A simple morning walk by Rajinikanth turned into a viral social media moment on polling day during the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026.
A video shared online showed the superstar taking a brisk walk through Poes Garden in Chennai during the early hours of April 23. Dressed casually, the 75-year-old actor was seen walking through the streets before turning back to acknowledge the cameraman with a wave — a gesture that quickly won hearts online.
Later in the day, Rajinikanth visited Stella Maris School in Chennai to cast his vote. He was accompanied by his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth. Videos from the polling booth showed the actor proudly displaying his inked finger after participating in the democratic process.
Meanwhile, Vijay, who is contesting elections as the chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, also arrived at his polling booth amid tight security and large crowds of supporters.
Actor Ajith Kumar was also among the early voters at Thiruvanmiyur polling station, where enthusiastic fans gathered to catch a glimpse of him. Police had to manage large crowds as supporters cheered loudly during his arrival.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth recently wrapped filming for Jailer 2, which has already generated strong buzz ahead of its release.
