Aditya Dhar Reveals Why ‘Shararat’ Almost Didn’t Make It Into Dhurandhar: The Revenge

While Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its strong run at the box office, a surprising behind-the-scenes revelation has added a new layer of intrigue for fans. Director Aditya Dhar recently shared that one of the film’s most popular tracks, “Shararat,” almost didn’t make it into the final cut.

Taking to social media, Aditya Dhar opened up about his initial hesitation regarding the inclusion of a traditional lip-sync dance number in what is otherwise a fast-paced, action-driven narrative. He admitted that he wasn’t entirely convinced about incorporating such a song into the film’s storytelling.

However, it was choreographer Vijay Ganguly who played a pivotal role in changing his perspective. Recalling their conversation, Dhar revealed that Vijay simply encouraged him to take the leap, assuring him that the track would add a fun and engaging element to the film. That moment of confidence ultimately persuaded both Dhar and music composer Shashwat Sachdev to move forward with the idea.

Looking back, the director now considers the “Shararat” sequence as one of his favourite parts of the film. He also praised Vijay Ganguly’s creative instincts, highlighting how the choreographer approaches music with emotion and storytelling rather than just choreography. Dhar noted that Vijay’s ability to think like a filmmaker made the collaboration seamless and effective.

The song, which features vocals by Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas, has gone on to become a massive hit. Set against a vibrant wedding backdrop, the track showcases performances by Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza, alongside the characters portrayed by Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun.

Apart from “Shararat,” Aditya Dhar also commended Vijay Ganguly’s work on other tracks in the film, including “Didi” and “Fa9la (Flipperachi),” which features Akshaye Khanna.

The success of “Shararat” stands as a testament to creative risk-taking, proving that sometimes, the boldest decisions become the most memorable highlights of a film.
