The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Government of Goa, in collaboration with Nestlé India Ltd., Usgao, successfully organised the All-Goa School Fire Safety Quiz Competition on April 18, 2026, at the Institute Menezes Braganza Hall in Panaji.
Held as part of Fire Prevention Week celebrations, the initiative aimed to empower young minds by promoting awareness on both general knowledge and critical fire safety practices. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 94 students representing 45 schools across the state, creating an engaging and educational environment.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Nitin V. Raiker, who highlighted the importance of fire safety awareness from a young age. The programme was also attended by Neha Nitin Raiker, Shailesh Zingade, Francisco Mendes, Sanjay Bandare, and Devidas Gawas, along with senior officials from the department.
The quiz served as a platform not only to test students’ knowledge but also to instill a deeper understanding of safety measures, emergency response, and responsible behaviour in fire-related situations. By combining learning with competition, the initiative reinforced the importance of preparedness and awareness among the youth.
The event reflects the continued efforts of the Directorate and its partners to build a safety-conscious community by engaging students and equipping them with essential life-saving knowledge at an early stage.
