Pramod Sawant attended the National Fire Service Day programme held at the Fire Force Training Ground in St Inez, Panaji. The event was organised by the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services Goa and focused on promoting fire safety awareness across key public spaces.
This year’s theme, “Safe School, Safe Hospital & Fire Safety Aware Society – Together for Fire Prevention,” highlighted the importance of preparedness and preventive measures in educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and communities at large.
The programme brought together officials and personnel from the fire and emergency services, along with key members of the state administration. Also present on the occasion were Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou and Director of Fire & Emergency Services Nitin Raiker.
The event underscored the critical role of awareness, training, and community participation in ensuring fire safety. It also served as a platform to recognise the dedication and service of fire personnel, while encouraging citizens to adopt safety practices and contribute to building a more resilient and prepared society.
