Central Board of Secondary Education Makes Three Languages Compulsory for Class 9 Students from July 2026

Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that Class 9 students will have to study three languages from the 2026–27 academic session under revised guidelines aligned with the National Education Policy. The new structure requires students to study at least two Indian languages, while foreign languages can only be taken alongside them or as an optional fourth subject.
