Legal Aid Camp Held at Panaji District and Sessions Court


In a bid to promote legal awareness and provide free legal aid to the public, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in association with the Legal Aid Cell Mala, comprising students from Salgaonkar Law College, organized a legal aid camp at the Panaji District and Sessions Court.

Eminent Speakers Share Valuable Insights
The camp featured a series of informative sessions, with prominent speakers sharing their expertise on mediation and other legal topics. Principal District Judge Irshad Agha delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the importance of mediation in resolving disputes. Advocate Mendes also spoke on the subject, providing valuable insights into the mediation process.

Dignitaries Attend and Show Support
Shantashri Kudchadker, Secretary of DLSA, was present at the event, along with Judge Arti Kumari. Shri Santosh Bharne, President of the Advocates Association Panaji, also attended the camp, showing support for the initiative.

Objective of the Camp
The primary objective of the legal aid camp was to create awareness about the importance of mediation and other legal services available to the public. The event aimed to empower citizens with knowledge about their rights and provide them with access to free legal aid.

The camp was well-attended, with participants showing keen interest in the sessions. The event was deemed a success, with organizers and attendees alike expressing their satisfaction with the informative and interactive sessions.

Goan Instruments Resonate at Concert for World Peace


The ‘Sur Jahan’ concert, held at the Kala Academy in Panaji, was a mesmerizing celebration of music and culture, featuring Goa’s traditional instrument, the Ghumat. The event, organized by Amitava Bhattacharya of Bangla Natak in association with the Department of Art and Culture, aimed to promote world peace through music.

The concert showcased an eclectic mix of performances, including The Ghumat Project by acclaimed Goan percussionist Carlos Gonsalves, Folkcorn from the Netherlands, and Habib Khan Langa & team from Rajasthan. Gonsalves’ project, ‘Taking Ghumot to the world’, featured a unique blend of indigenous and western instruments, including the Ghumat, Dhol, Dub, Tasha, Shamel, Kasale, Zanz, Madhalem, drum set, and acoustic guitar, accompanied by Goan traditional folk vocals.

The audience was enthralled by Gonsalves’ ingenuity in incorporating Goa’s traditional percussions into the performance. His interactive approach, engaging the audience in rhythmic clapping, added to the electric atmosphere. The troupe’s vibrant costumes, designed by noted Goan fashion designer Verma D’Mello, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Goa.

The concert was a testament to the power of music in promoting unity and peace. The organizers and performers expressed their gratitude to the music lovers of Goa who came together to make the event a memorable success.

New EV Charging Stations Coming Soon to Panaji : An Initiative by IPSCDL


The city of Panaji is about to embark on a transformative journey towards a more sustainable future with the launch of an extensive Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station network. In collaboration with Reliance BP Mobility Ltd. (Mumbai), Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has announced the upcoming launch of several EV charging stations across key locations in and around Panaji. This initiative, proposed by the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA), aims to establish EV charging infrastructure across 40 strategically selected locations. IPSCDL has already established the first set of charging stations along Panaji’s smart roads which has started operating .
This project named “Installation of EV Charging Station in Panaji”, represents a significant step towards promoting green mobility in Goa, aligning with both the stateโ€™s and the nationโ€™s goals for sustainable transportation solutions. With this infrastructure, Panaji residents and visitors alike can now access convenient and efficient EV charging services, paving the way for an increased adoption of electric vehicles.

The EV charging infrastructure in Panaji is rapidly expanding, with 11 charging stations planned across the city. This includes 21 charging guns for 2-wheelers and 10 charging guns for 4-wheelers, supporting both slow and fast charging needs. Currently, 3 stations with 9 charging guns for 2-wheelers are operational, with 8 more stations to be commissioned by 15th February, 2025.

Accessibility & Benefits
All charging stations will be accessible through the Jio BP Pulse app, available on both the App Store and Google Play. Users simply create a profile, add vehicle details and top up an amount for seamless access to these charge points.
This app also provides access to a vast network of over 5,000 Jio BP Pulse charging points across India, ensuring EV drivers can travel with peace of mind.
