Goa Tourism Showcases Regenerative Vision at SATTE 2026 in New Delhi


The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, is set to participate in the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2026, which will be held from February 25 to 27 at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Expo Centre) in New Delhi. Recognised as one of South Asia’s most prominent travel and tourism exhibitions, SATTE brings together destinations, travel professionals, hospitality brands, and key stakeholders from across the global tourism ecosystem, creating opportunities for collaboration, networking, and business growth.

Goa Tourism will showcase its diverse and evolving portfolio at Stall No. A-62, engaging with industry stakeholders and partners over the three-day event. The State’s participation is centred on reinforcing its identity as a year-round destination driven by quality, sustainability, and regenerative tourism practices. Visitors to the Goa pavilion will experience a curated mix of offerings, including spiritual circuits such as Ekadasha Teertha, hinterland and village tourism, homestays, wellness retreats, adventure activities, heritage trails, monsoon experiences, and vibrant cultural festivals that highlight Goa’s rich and living traditions.

The delegation will actively participate in business-to-business meetings with domestic and international tour operators, travel agents, destination management companies, hospitality partners, and aviation stakeholders. These engagements aim to strengthen strategic alliances, enhance market visibility, and promote responsible tourism practices while attracting travellers seeking deeper, more meaningful, and immersive experiences.

Tourism Minister Shri Rohan Ashok Khaunte emphasised that Goa’s presence at SATTE 2026 aligns with the State’s broader vision of becoming a regenerative and future-ready tourism destination. He highlighted that the focus remains on empowering local communities, preserving cultural identity, and encouraging responsible travel while leveraging global platforms to build impactful partnerships.

Director of Tourism Shri Kedar Naik noted that SATTE continues to serve as a significant forum for engaging with stakeholders across the travel and tourism sector. He added that this year’s showcase will focus on curated experiences that reflect Goa’s evolving tourism narrative and its shift towards sustainability and innovation.

Through its participation, the Department of Tourism aims to further strengthen Goa’s brand presence in key domestic and international markets while placing sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation at the core of its tourism strategy. Minister Subhash Phal Dessai Attends National Policy Dialogue on Sustainable Rural Drinking Water Services

New Delhi: Goa’s Minister for Drinking Water, Subhash Phal Dessai, today attended the Minister-level Policy Dialogue on Sustainable Operation and Maintenance of Rural Drinking Water Services held in New Delhi. The dialogue brought together policymakers from across the country to deliberate on strengthening rural water supply systems and ensuring their long-term sustainability.


During the interaction, Subhash Phal Dessai highlighted Goa’s efforts to improve rural drinking water infrastructure and sought Central Government support for strengthening and developing water supply systems across the state.

The Minister also had a strong interaction with C. R. Patil, Union Minister for Jal Shakti, discussing policy support, operational challenges, and opportunities to enhance rural water service delivery in Goa.

The participation reflects Goa’s proactive approach towards ensuring reliable, sustainable, and efficient drinking water services for rural communities, aligned with national water security goals.

Goa to Showcase its Rich Cultural Heritage at 76th Republic Day Parade


In a proud moment for the state, Goa will present a vibrant float at the 76th Republic Day parade in New Delhi on January 26, 2025. The float, designed and fabricated by a team of 30 talented Goans, will showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage and progress.

Theme: “Swarnim Bharat, Virasat aur Vikas”

The float’s theme, “Swarnim Bharat, Virasat aur Vikas,” translates to “Golden India, Heritage and Development.” It beautifully captures the essence of Goa’s journey, highlighting its rich cultural legacy and impressive development.

The float is the brainchild of a team led by renowned Goan artist Shri Sushant Khedekar. The team comprises artisans, fabricators, carpenters, and other skilled professionals who have worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. The performing artists team is led by Shri Dinesh Priolkar, with choreography by Mr. Nishad, costumes by Mrs. Sangeeta and Miss Avani Khedekar, and music composed by Dr. Saish Deshpande.

The float has undergone rigorous rehearsals, with dress rehearsals held on January 17, 18, 20, and 21. A full dress rehearsal will take place on January 23, 2025. After the parade, the float will be displayed at Red Fort as part of the Bharat Parv celebration from January 26 to 31, 2025.

The presentation of Goa’s float at the 76th Republic Day parade is a proud moment for the state and its people. It showcases the rich cultural heritage and progress of Goa, and is a testament to the talent and hard work of the team involved.
