Yoga for Athletes: Enhancing Performance and Preventing Injuries

Written by Anupama Verma

Athletes striving for peak performance know that strength and stamina alone aren’t enough to excel. Performance at the highest level requires flexibility, balance, control, and mental clarity, and this is where yoga has become an invaluable tool in modern athletic training.

Many athletes face muscle imbalances, tightness, and restricted movement due to repetitive training patterns. Yoga offers a balanced solution by incorporating both dynamic and static poses that release tension, increase range of motion, and improve overall mobility.

This increased flexibility not only enhances performance—such as allowing runners a more fluid stride or helping tennis players generate a more powerful swing—but also reduces the likelihood of strains and tears by preparing the muscles to withstand the demands of intense competition. Beyond its physical benefits, yoga strengthens the mental aspects of athleticism. Through breathwork and mindfulness, athletes learn to stay present under pressure, manage pre-game nerves, and maintain focus during critical moments.

It promotes a deep awareness of the body, enabling athletes to recognize early signs of fatigue or potential injury before they escalate. Rather than replacing sport-specific training, yoga complements it, helping athletes build a more resilient, well-rounded foundation.

As more athletes adopt this practice, yoga is proving to be a powerful ally for longevity, performance, and overall athletic well-being.

Maruti Suzuki has officially entered the electric mobility landscape with a comprehensive, nationwide EV ecosystem designed to make charging seamless, accessible, and reliable for customers across India. With the launch of the One India, One EV Charging platform, the company introduces an end-to-end digital solution that integrates home charging, public charging, and a unified payment experience. As part of this transformation, Maruti Suzuki has collaborated with 13 leading Charge Point Operators and aggregators to create a consolidated national network, ensuring a frictionless user experience across all partner-operated charging stations. The company has already established more than 2,000 exclusive Maruti Suzuki charging points across its extensive sales and service network spread over 1,100 cities, making EV ownership more convenient than ever before.

Aligned with Suzuki’s global sustainability vision, Maruti Suzuki aims to enable a nationwide network of over 1,00,000 public charging points by 2030 in partnership with its dealers and CPOs. To demonstrate the strength and readiness of this ecosystem, four e VITARA Born EVs embarked on a unique pan-India ‘e drive,’ starting from Gurugram and travelling to Srinagar in the North, Kanyakumari in the South, Dibrugarh in the East, and Bhuj in the West. This symbolic journey reflects the brand’s commitment to building consumer confidence through real-world proof of charging accessibility and range reliability. The e VITARA itself has undergone rigorous testing over more than one crore kilometres in conditions ranging from scorching 60°C heat to freezing –30°C cold, consistently delivering a range of 543 kilometres.

Maruti Suzuki’s nationwide showroom network and over 1,500 service workshops have been upgraded to be EV-ready, supported by a trained workforce of 1.5 lakh professionals equipped to deliver top-notch EV ownership experiences. The company has also launched the ‘e for me’ app, enabling customers and prospective buyers to locate charging stations across the national network with ease. By bringing together advanced product development, widespread charging access, and digital integration, Maruti Suzuki is poised to redefine EV ownership in India and strengthen the country’s journey toward a sustainable mobility future.

Uber, Ola & Rapido Resume Bike Taxi Services in Bengaluru

Commuters in Bengaluru have reason to cheer as bike taxi services are back on the roads. Ride-hailing majors Uber, Ola, and Rapido have resumed operations, reinstating a convenient, fast, and cost-effective travel option for city dwellers.

Bike taxis have long been popular among commuters for their affordability and efficiency, especially in Bengaluru’s traffic-heavy landscape. They provide last-mile connectivity, helping people quickly get to metro stations, bus stops, and workplaces.

The service had been suspended following regulatory hurdles and policy uncertainties. However, with renewed clarity and compliance measures in place, the companies are once again set to serve lakhs of riders across the city.

Industry experts believe that the revival of bike taxis will reduce travel costs, decongest roads, and enhance mobility in India’s tech capital.

For many daily commuters, this development means more accessible, quicker, and reliable travel options across Bengaluru’s busy routes.

As urban mobility continues to evolve, the comeback of bike taxis marks a positive step toward sustainable and affordable city transport solutions.
