Panaji, July 2025: In a heartfelt act of service and community outreach, the Goa GSB Sports & Charitable Trust donated stationery items worth โน20,000 to Aastha Anand Niketan, a school in Mapusa devoted to educating and empowering children with special needs.
The Trustโs teamโcomprising President Sidhit Raiturker, Secretary Venkat Biche, Treasurer Siddharth Ghanekar, and trustees Kapil Angle, Kapil Borker, Pranav Biche, and Adv. Sachin Sardesaiโpersonally visited the school to hand over the supplies. They were joined by Shant Rama Gudanwar, a respected businessman and social worker with longstanding ties to the school.
During the visit, Dr. Chandrashekhar M. Kelkar, Secretary of Aastha Anand Niketan, welcomed the guests and shared insights into the schoolโs journey. Mapusa, Goa โ June 26, 2025 : St. Xavierโs College, Mapusa, took a strong stand against the growing crisis of substance abuse by organizing an educational and awareness session on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The event, held on campus on June 26, 2025, aimed to sensitize students about the dangers of drug abuse, its ties to mental health struggles, and the importance of reaching out for help. A total of 247 students from the Arts, Commerce, Science, and Self-Financed streams actively participated in the programme.

Dr. Pokle spoke candidly about the mental health dimensions of substance abuse, urging students to recognize early warning signs and resist the glamorization of drugs on social media and in pop culture.

Ms. Jadhav introduced students to the Goa Governmentโs Tele-MANAS mental health helpline, stressing that confidential support is available to anyone experiencing stress, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts.

The town of Mapusa is abuzz with excitement as it prepares for the annual Milagres feast, a significant event in Goa’s cultural and religious calendar. The feast, also known as the Feast of Our Lady of Miracles, will be held on May 5 at St Jerome Church and is expected to attract thousands of devotees from across the state.
The nine-day Novenas preceding the feast began on April 26 and will culminate with vespers on May 4. On the feast day itself, several Masses will be held, starting at 5:30 am, followed by services at 4:00 pm and 5:15 pm. The Novenas during the weekdays will feature Masses at 6:30 am, 8 am (Novena), and 6 pm (Novena and Salve), while Sundays will have additional Masses at 6:30 am, 7:45 am (Novena), 9 am (English), and 6 pm (Novena and Salve).
To complement the religious festivities, the church authorities have organized a five-day entertainment extravaganza, Milagres Fiesta 2025, within the church compound. The event will feature three Konkani dramas on different days, along with various other programs, including games and housie, starting from the feast day.
