Two individuals of Goan origin, Leon Rebello and Zaneta Mascarenhas, have made the Goan community proud by being elected as Members of Parliament in Australia. Rebello, a 30-year-old lawyer, represents the Liberal National party, while Mascarenhas, a 44-year-old engineer, retained her seat for the Labour party.
