Goa Street Race 2025: India’s First Oceanfront Circuit Announced for IRF Round 4in Mormugao

In a major milestone for Indian motorsport, Goa has officially been announced as the host for the fourth round of the 2025 Indian Racing Festival. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant revealed that a 3.2 km street circuit along the scenic Headland-Sada coastline in Mormugao will become the venue for the Goa Street Race 2025, scheduled from October 31 to November 2, 2025.

This unique event marks the debut of South Asia’s first oceanfront racetrack — a landmark development in India’s push to become a global motorsport destination. The circuit will challenge racers with tight urban turns, sweeping seaside straights, and salt-laden winds – delivering a technical and visual spectacle. As the third city-based street circuit in the Indian Racing Festival, following Hyderabad and Chennai, Goa’s entry solidifies IRF’s ambitious vision of bringing high-octane motorsport to urban India.

Two premier racing championships will headline the event — the Indian Racing League (IRL) and the Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC). The IRL is the world’s first gender-neutral motorsport league, featuring six city-based teams and an inclusive grid of global and Indian talent. F4IC, FIA-certified and FMSCI-approved, is India’s gateway for young drivers aiming to progress into international single-seater racing.

Celebrity presence adds another layer of glamour, with team owners including John Abraham (Goa Aces JA Racing), Arjun Kapoor (Speed Demons Delhi), Sourav Ganguly (Kolkata Royal Tigers), Sudeep Kichcha (Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru), Naga Chaitanya (Hyderabad Blackbirds), and Dr. Swetha Sundeep Anand (Chennai Turbo Riders).

Drivers such as Alvaro Parente, Raoul Hyman, Neel Jani, Jon Lancaster, Fabienne Wohlwend, Sohil Shah, Ruhaan Alva, and Laura Camps Torras will electrify the streets of Mormugao. The festival not only boosts India’s motorsport credentials but serves as an economic catalyst, drawing thousands of spectators, media, and sponsors. With support from the Goa Tourism Department, JK Tyre, Nayara Energy, Mobil1, and Bisleri, the event will generate jobs, promote high-value tourism, and create a legacy for future international sporting events in the region.

Tickets will be available via the District app later this month, and the event will be broadcast live on Star Sports Select 2 and JioHotstar.

As Dr. Sawant declared, “Goa is ready to host the world.”

Goa Tourism to Strengthen Domestic Outreach with Showcase at TTF Hyderabad 2025

Written by Intern Queeny George M.H. Team Allycaral

Goa Tourism is gearing up to showcase a refreshed and redefined identity at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Hyderabad 2025, scheduled to be held on 19th and 20th September at the Hyderabad International Convention Center. Moving beyond the well-known image of sun, sand, and sea, the state is presenting a deeper, richer travel narrative under the theme “Goa Beyond Beaches”.

At this year’s TTF, the Goa Tourism pavilion will highlight immersive, regenerative tourism experiences. Visitors can explore a variety of offerings that range from hinterland trails, monsoon tourism, spiritual circuits, and wellness retreats to village life, cultural festivals, and adventure tourism. These elements reflect the government’s commitment to sustainable and community-focused tourism.

Honourable Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, emphasized the state’s evolving identity. “Goa is evolving beyond its iconic beaches to emerge as a destination that is vibrant, diverse, and sustainable. Our focus is on tourism that creates authentic and memorable experiences for visitors while supporting local communities and preserving our environment. Our aim at TTF Hyderabad is to connect with a wide network of travel agents, operators, and corporates who play a crucial role in shaping travel choices,” he said. He invited Goa’s travel trade partners to join in promoting a forward-looking, inclusive, and sustainable tourism vision.

Shri Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, echoed these sentiments, stating, “We are showcasing Goa at TTF Hyderabad as a destination for every traveller — whether it’s culture, heritage, wellness, adventure, or eco-tourism. Goa offers authentic and memorable experiences throughout the year.”

The Goa Tourism showcase at TTF Hyderabad 2025 reflects a strong focus on partnerships, storytelling, and innovation. The goal is to deepen engagement with the domestic market and promote experiences that are memorable, meaningful, and mindful — aligning with the broader global movement toward responsible and regenerative travel.

This participation is part of a broader domestic outreach strategy that aims to position Goa as a year-round destination rooted in tradition, sustainability, and innovation.

Water Sports Activities in Goa to Resume from September 15: Rohan Khaunte

Goa’s tourism sector is set to receive a major boost as water sports activities will resume from September 15, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte announced.

The Minister met with members of the Goa Water Sports Association, assuring them that the government remains committed to protecting the livelihoods of Goans who depend on the industry.

Referring to the current sea conditions, Khaunte said the restart date has been fixed in alignment with safety requirements and weather patterns. The monsoon season, which often brings rough seas, usually leads to the suspension of water sports across the state’s beaches for several months.

The announcement has come as a relief to operators and workers engaged in water sports such as parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides, and other adventure activities that attract thousands of tourists each season.

Tourism stakeholders are hopeful that the resumption will help revive visitor interest and provide a timely boost ahead of Goa’s festive and peak tourism season.

Goa Sand Art Festival Gets Green Light for November at Miramar Beach

The Goa Sand Art Festival (GSAF) is set to return to Miramar Beach this November, after receiving the green light from the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA). Scheduled from November 14 to 30, the two-week event will be a free-to-view cultural festival that blends creativity, education, and environmental awareness in one of Goa’s most iconic coastal locations.

The festival, organised by Sand Cult, will occupy approximately 15,000 square feet of beach space, where visitors can experience live sand sculpting displays, interactive workshops for students and local artists, and school engagement programs aimed at promoting Goa’s sustainable development goals.

The event proposal, first submitted in July, offered two formats—a short-term free festival and a six-month paid exhibition. After careful review, the GCZMA opted for the short-term model, citing its limited ecological footprint and easier logistical management. The decision was based on compliance with the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification, 2011, as well as detailed considerations of waste management, temporary structures, and crowd control.

Importantly, the GCZMA has stated that no permanent structures will be allowed at the venue, though temporary tents may be set up for the duration. Strict adherence to environmental safeguards and continuous maintenance of beach cleanliness have been mandated throughout the event.

The festival is poised to offer a cultural boost to Goa’s tourism season while also creating employment opportunities for locals and encouraging community involvement in sustainable coastal development. With its unique blend of artistic expression and environmental responsibility, the Goa Sand Art Festival promises to be a standout event on the state’s cultural calendar.
