Panaji: A ceremonial piping event was held at the Goa Police Headquarters in Panaji, during which Jivba Dalvi was promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).


Dalvi was formally decorated with the badge of his new rank by the Director General of Police and the Inspector General of Police of Goa Police, in the presence of senior officers and colleagues.

Describing the promotion as both an honour and a responsibility, Dalvi stated that the elevation signifies a renewed commitment to dedicated service for the people of Goa and the nation. He noted that the role carries greater accountability and responsibility towards maintaining law and order and serving the public with integrity.

The ceremony marked an important professional milestone in Dalvi’s policing career, reflecting his continued dedication and service within the Goa Police force.

The award was accepted by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Vishwesh Karpe, Calangute Police Inspector Paresh Naik, along with the entire staff of Calangute Police Station. Anjuna Police Conduct Cyber Security Awareness Session for Hospitality Staff at Rio Resort


Anjuna Police Station conducted a Cyber Security Awareness Session on December 5, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Rio Resort, Arpora, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen digital safety measures within the hospitality sector.

With cybercrimes increasingly affecting hotels, tourists, and online business operations, the session aimed to equip staff with practical tools to identify, prevent, and respond to digital threats. Nearly 50 staff members participated in the training.

During the session, officers explained various emerging cyber risks, including UPI/OTP frauds, phishing links, fake booking confirmations, impersonation calls, and unsafe digital transaction practices. Real-life examples were shared to help participants understand how fraudsters operate and how simple verification steps can prevent major losses.

Staff were briefed on two crucial citizen-focused government platforms:

  • Chakshu Portal – for reporting suspicious calls, messages, and communication-based fraud attempts.
  • Sanchaar Saathi Portal – for checking mobile connections linked to an individual and detecting fraudulent SIM misuse.

Participants also learned the importance of immediately reporting cyber incidents via the national Cyber Helpline 1930, enabling prompt action and minimizing damage.

The management of Rio Resort appreciated the proactive outreach of Anjuna Police Station and acknowledged the importance of such awareness programs in improving cyber vigilance, ensuring safer interactions for guests, and strengthening the digital hygiene of the resort.

Anjuna Police Officers Recover Lost Samsung S24 Ultra of South African Tourist at Vagator Beach


In yet another commendable display of dedication and professionalism, PC Abhishek Kasar and PC Shamba of the Anjuna Police Station successfully recovered a missing mobile phone belonging to a foreign national from South Africa.

The tourist had reported his Samsung S24 Ultra missing while visiting Vagator Beach. Responding promptly, the two officers initiated focused efforts to trace the device. Their swift coordination, persistent follow-up, and effective teamwork led to the successful recovery of the phone.

The missing device was later handed over to the rightful owner at the Anjuna Police Station. Grateful for the timely assistance, the tourist expressed deep appreciation for the sincerity, commitment, and supportive approach of the officers, praising Goa Police for their efficient handling of the situation.
