Veteran Tennis Players Battle It Out at Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026

Panaji, January 23, 2026: Veteran tennis players crossed swords at the 11th edition of the ongoing Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026, being held at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar, and Panjim Gymkhana courts. More than a hundred matches were played in the highly competitive Masters category, making it one of the premier events on the veteran tennis calendar.


In the Masters men’s singles 60+ category, Kapinakadu defeated Santosh Fondekar 6–1, Sudhir Chiplunkar blanked Shivaji Chavan 6–0, Alok Raina beat Artemio Morais 6–2, Vijay Primlani defeated Alok Mishra 6–0, Agnelo Fernandes overcame D Bhasme 6–3, Sanjay Ashar trounced Hiren Bheda 6–0, Manoj Chandiramani edged Kapinakadu 6–4, Ujjwal beat Sudhir 6–3, Bipin defeated Sambasiva 6–1, Manoj Pandey blanked Nishith 6–0, Raviraj Bhagwan beat S S Bhasme 6–3, Bipin Sinha defeated Kishor Rajapurkar 6–0, Vijay Kamat beat Arvind Tiwari 6–1 and Gordon overcame Ramesh K 6–3.

In the Masters men’s singles 55+ category, Mladen defeated Manoj U 6–2, Y Ajml blanked Vikas G 6–0, Ashok K defeated Sanjeev K 6–0, Ganesh Iyer beat Swapnil 6–1, Jay Mishra defeated Steven Britton 6–2, Amol Atigre overcame Sujit S 6–2, Krishna K edged Vikrant 6–3 and Guruprasad beat Indrajit 6–1.

In the Masters 90+ men’s doubles category, Ashok and D Arumugam recorded a 6–0 win over Elvis and Marcus, Amol Atigre and Sachin K defeated Prithvi and Surjit 6–2, Anand and Abhishek blanked Santosh and Uttamkumar 6–0, Dhananjay and Rahul beat Prakash and Savadi 6–2, Arup and Sachin defeated Rahul and Sachin 6–1, Rajabanshi and Sunil beat Jaydeep and Vivek 6–1, Jijesh and Devendra edged D Chaudhary and Babasaheb 6–3, Yuvraj and Sachin P defeated Sachin and Subodh 6–3 and Parthasarathi and Praful beat Saumil and Abhijit 6–3.

Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has received a record 555 entries across the Masters and Open categories. Matches in the Open category are scheduled to commence from January 26, 2026.

Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 Records All-Time High with 555 Entries in 11th Edition

Registrations for the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 have officially closed, with the tournament recording a record-breaking 555 entries ahead of its 11th edition, marking a significant milestone in its journey as one of Goa’s most prominent tennis events. Scheduled to be held from January 22 to February 1 at the iconic Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias in Miramar, the tournament continues to draw players across age groups and competitive levels.

Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group in association with the Goa State Tennis Association, the tournament has once again witnessed strong participation across the Open, Junior and Masters categories. The 2026 edition is also notable for the introduction of the ladies’ doubles category for the first time, adding a new dimension to the competition.

The Open men’s singles category has attracted the highest participation with 111 entries, while the Open men’s doubles event has seen 37 pairs register. The Open ladies’ singles category has drawn 32 entries, with 14 pairs competing in the newly introduced ladies’ doubles. The Open mixed doubles segment has recorded 18 teams.

Junior participation has remained encouraging, with 25 players in the boys’ under-16 category and 14 in the girls’ under-16 event. In the under-12 division, 14 boys and five girls have registered, reflecting steady grassroots engagement in the sport.

The Masters segment has also recorded strong numbers, led by 70 entries in the 45+ men’s singles category, followed by 42 entries in the 60+ men’s singles and 30 entries in the 55+ men’s singles. In doubles, the 90+ men’s doubles category has emerged as the most subscribed with 60 teams, while the 110+ and 120+ doubles categories have recorded 43 and 32 teams respectively. The 35+ mixed doubles event has attracted eight teams.

Speaking on the occasion, Tanmay Kholkar, Secretary of Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, said the tournament holds special significance this year as it coincides with the centenary celebrations of the club. Goa State Tennis Association President Sameer Kakodkar noted that the rising participation reflects the growing confidence players have in the tournament as a reliable and competitive platform across age groups.

Arjun Gadre of the Gadre Group expressed satisfaction at the sustained interest in the event, stating that the continued growth of the tournament reinforces its relevance within Goa’s sporting landscape. With matches spread over eleven days, the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 is expected to deliver high-quality competition and continue its legacy as one of the most keenly followed tennis tournaments in the state.

Gadre Gaspar Dias Open Tennis Tournament Kicks Off in Goa


The 10th edition of the prestigious Gadre Gaspar Dias Open tennis tournament commenced on January 23, 2025, at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias premises in Miramar, Goa. Organized jointly by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in collaboration with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), this year’s tournament has received a record-breaking 533 entries.

The tournament began with matches in the Masters category, which saw several top-seeded players in action. In the men’s singles 45+ category, Rahul Kapse, Amit Tambe, Pavan Mokashi, Vikas Aswani, Nitesh Bhansali, Bulu, and Sattyam all secured convincing 6-0 wins over their respective opponents.

Other notable winners in the Masters category included Natraj Gujran, Sagar Pattekari, Rohan Lotlikar, Yuvraj Patil, Srivathsa Rao, Ashutosh Pednekar, Naveen Cardoza, Sandeep Agate, and Vivek Chaurasiya.

The highly anticipated Open category matches are scheduled to commence on January 27 and will run until February 2. With a strong lineup of players participating in the tournament, fans can expect some thrilling matches in the coming days.

According to Arjun Gadre, owner of the Gadre Group, the record-breaking entries received for this year’s tournament underscore its growing popularity. “The growth of the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open tournament has been phenomenal. It only goes to underscore the popularity of the event, whose vision is to nurture young talent and promote competitiveness in sports across age groups and all barriers,” Gadre said.
