The International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2025) has unveiled its Goan film selections and cultural highlights for the 56th edition, featuring five Goan films, open-air screenings, vibrant parades, and major competitions across the state from 20–28 November 2025.
The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) is inviting applications for the appointment of personnel for the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 and other ESG-organized events. Interested candidates must submit the completed application form by 10th October 2025.
Goan filmmaker Miransha Naik, whose award-winning Konkani film Juze swept 14 awards at the Goa State Film Festival, has returned all his accolades in protest. The decision came after the same organiser, the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), gave the film a 'C' grade while evaluating it for the State’s Film Finance Scheme, sparking outrage across the film fraternity.
Renowned Goan artist Kalidas Satardekar paid tribute to celebrated actress Varsha Usgaonkar by presenting her with a specially crafted portrait. The presentation took place during the announcement of her Lifetime Achievement Award by the Entertainment Society of Goa, marking a moment of cultural pride and artistic celebration.
The 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the Goa State Film Festival will be inaugurated on August 14, 2025, by CM Dr. Pramod Sawant and ESG Vice Chairman Smt. Delilah M Lobo, featuring film screenings, workshops, awards, and a lifetime achievement honor for Varsha Usgaonkar.
