The Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Program is an innovative initiative launched by the Government of India to engage private and public sector companies, NGOs, trusts, and societies in the development and maintenance of protected monuments. The program aims to enhance the visitor experience and make these monuments more visitor-friendly.
How it Works
Interested entities can register on a dedicated portal and adopt a monument from the listed sites.
Proposals are evaluated by an Approval and Implementation Committee.
Once approved, the partnering entity carries out the work under the close supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
All revenues generated through semi-commercial activities are deposited in a dedicated account, which is used solely for the sustenance, development, operation, and maintenance of the adopted monument.
