Dr. Vece Paes, a member of the Indian hockey team that clinched the bronze medal at the 1972 Munich Olympics, passed away at the age of 80. A former midfielder, sports medicine expert, and multi-sport contributor, he was also the father of tennis legend Leander Paes. Dr. Paes had been battling Parkinson’s disease and was admitted to a city hospital earlier this week.

Singer KK dies after concert in Kolkata
Playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, betterknown as KK, died at 53 shortly after performing at a concert in Kolkata's Nazrul Mancha. He collapsed after the show and was rushed to a hospital in the city where he was declared dead. He's survived by his wife and two children.
