Ajay Devgn is set to return as Vijay Salgaonkar as the Drishyam franchise reaches its concluding chapter with Drishyam: The Conclusion, and early ticket sales indicate strong interest ahead of its October 2 theatrical release.
The third instalment has reportedly crossed the ₹10 crore mark in gross advance bookings, according to trade estimates, just three days before its release.
Over Four Lakh Tickets Sold
Advance bookings for Drishyam: The Conclusion opened on September 27, five days before the film’s theatrical release.
According to the figures cited in trade reports, the film sold approximately 1.6 lakh tickets for its opening day in the first phase of advance sales and added more than a lakh tickets for Saturday.
Within 48 hours, the film had reportedly sold over four lakh tickets across India for its opening weekend.
By Tuesday morning, September 29, trade estimates placed the film’s gross advance-booking collection at more than ₹10 crore.
The opening-day advance booking alone was reported at around ₹6.65 crore, according to the trade figures cited.
The film has also reportedly crossed the final advance-booking figure of Drishyam 2, which collected approximately ₹5.09 crore in advance bookings.
With three more days remaining before release, the pace of ticket sales will be closely watched as the film heads towards its opening weekend.
Can Drishyam 3 Deliver a Record Opening?
Drishyam: The Conclusion enters theatres with considerable franchise value.
Drishyam 2, released in 2022, opened at approximately ₹15 crore net domestically. Ahead of the third instalment’s release, early trade estimates had placed its potential opening in the ₹25–30 crore range.
However, the reported pace of advance bookings has led some trade observers to raise their expectations.
Some trade projections have suggested that the film could potentially cross the ₹45 crore mark on opening day. These figures remain projections and will ultimately depend on ticket sales, occupancy and audience response once the film releases.
Ajay Devgn Returns as Vijay Salgaonkar
Officially titled Drishyam: The Conclusion, the film brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar.
The returning cast includes Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant.
The film also introduces new cast members Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Saurabh Shukla.
Drishyam: The Conclusion is written and directed by Abhishek Pathak.
The film presents a new story for the franchise and is set to take the Salgaonkar family’s story forward in its final chapter.
