The Goa senior women’s cricket team suffered a five-wicket defeat against Baroda senior women in a T20 practice match organised by the Baroda Cricket Association on Sunday at B.C.A. Stadium ‘B’ in Baroda.
After winning the toss, Baroda opted to bowl first and restricted Goa to 96/9 in 20 overs. Shreya Parab top-scored for Goa with 22 runs off 39 balls, while Tejaswini Durgad and Poorva Bhaidkar scored 15 runs each. Vinavi Gurav added 12 runs.
Tanvir Sheikh and Hani Patel picked up two wickets each for Baroda.
In reply, Baroda chased down the target in 17.1 overs, finishing on 97/5. Amita Joseph steadied the innings with 36 runs off 48 balls, while Meshvi Poker scored 24 off 36 balls and Atoshi Banerjee made 19 off 28 balls.
For Goa, Poorva Bhaidkar was the leading bowler, claiming four wickets for 15 runs in her four-over spell. Shreya Parab took one wicket for 14 runs.
