Cyber Awareness Session Held for 300 Students at Fr. Agnel College, Pilar

Pilar, Goa | September 7, 2026: A cyber awareness session was conducted at Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, Goa, on September 7, with the aim of educating students about growing cyber threats and promoting safe and responsible use of technology.

The programme was attended by approximately 300 students, who were sensitised to various aspects of cyber safety and digital security.

The session was conducted by Cyber Yoddhas Rohan Kolkar and Mohammad Sameer of Goa Police, along with Police Constable Hitesh Talwar from the Vasco Cyber Crime Cell.

During the interactive awareness programme, the students were briefed on important aspects of cybercrime prevention, online scams and frauds, social media safety and digital security.

The speakers highlighted the growing risks associated with the increasing use of smartphones, social media platforms, online transactions and digital services. Students were encouraged to remain alert while interacting online and to exercise caution before clicking links, sharing information or responding to unknown communications.

The session also focused on the importance of responsible digital behaviour and making informed decisions while using technology. Students were encouraged to understand potential cyber threats and adopt safe practices to protect themselves from online fraud and other forms of cybercrime.

The initiative sought to bridge the gap between awareness and action by equipping young people with practical knowledge to identify suspicious online activities and respond responsibly.

With students increasingly becoming active users of digital platforms, such awareness programmes play an important role in building a more informed and cyber-conscious generation.

The session at Fr. Agnel College was part of efforts to strengthen cyber safety awareness among young people and encourage them to become responsible digital citizens.
