Baga, Goa | August 28, 2026: Anjuna Police Station conducted a Cyber Security Awareness Session for the staff of Radisson Hotel, Baga, focusing on strengthening digital safety awareness and helping hospitality-sector employees identify and prevent common cyber threats.
The session was conducted on August 28 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and was attended by around 30–35 members of the hotel staff.
Focus on common cyber threats
The awareness programme addressed several types of cyber fraud that can affect hotels, their employees and tourists.
Participants were sensitised about online booking scams, fake payment links, OTP fraud, UPI scams, impersonation calls, phishing messages and data security risks.
Practical and real-life examples were used during the session to explain how cybercriminals operate and how seemingly routine digital interactions can expose individuals and organisations to financial and data-related risks.
Protecting guest information
Given the nature of the hospitality industry, the session also highlighted the importance of protecting guest information and sensitive data.
Hotel staff were encouraged to exercise caution while handling digital communications, payment requests and online transactions. The importance of verifying information before clicking links, sharing details or authorising transactions was emphasised.
The interactive approach aimed to encourage staff members to remain vigilant and adopt safer digital practices in their everyday professional responsibilities.
Demonstration of MRM and GRM portals
As part of the programme, participants were also given a practical demonstration of the MRM and GRM portals.
The demonstration helped familiarise staff with the relevant digital reporting and information systems while reinforcing the importance of timely action when dealing with suspicious or fraudulent activity.
Immediate reporting is crucial
A key message of the session was the need to report cyber financial fraud immediately.
Participants were informed about Cyber Crime Helpline 1930, which can be used to report cyber fraud and seek assistance.
The session stressed that quick reporting can be important in cases involving financial fraud, particularly when a victim has transferred money through digital payment channels.
Building a culture of cyber awareness
The awareness programme underlined the growing importance of cyber security within the hospitality sector, where employees regularly deal with online bookings, digital payments, customer information and electronic communication.
The management and staff of Radisson Hotel, Baga, appreciated the initiative by Anjuna Police Station, recognising the value of regular cyber awareness programmes in helping employees identify threats and respond responsibly.
The session concluded with an emphasis on vigilance, verification before action, responsible digital behaviour and prompt reporting of suspected cyber fraud.
