Aldona, Goa: The Under-19 Boys Football Team of St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Aldona, has booked its place in the Zone I Under-19 Football Tournament Semi-Finals following two impressive performances.
The Aldona side began its campaign with an exciting 2–2 draw against St. Xavier’s HSS, Mapusa in regulation time. With the match heading into a tie-breaker, the St. Thomas players held their nerve and showed tremendous composure to emerge victorious and advance to the next round.
Carrying the momentum into their second match, St. Thomas HSS Aldona produced an authoritative display against Harmal Panchkroshi HSS, Harmal, securing a convincing 3–0 victory.
The team’s performances highlighted its skill, discipline, teamwork and fighting spirit. The players maintained excellent coordination on the field while demonstrating determination and composure during crucial moments.
The back-to-back results have earned the Aldona team a well-deserved spot in the Zone I Semi-Finals, bringing them one step closer to the tournament title.
The school congratulated the entire team, coach and supporting staff for their outstanding achievement and wished the players success in the upcoming semi-final.
With their strong start to the tournament, the St. Thomas HSS Aldona boys will now look to continue their impressive run and make their mark in the next stage of the competition.
