An awareness programme on drug abuse prevention was organised at Kripa Foundation, Anjuna, on June 26, 2026, to mark World Anti-Drug Day, bringing together public representatives, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions and members of the community to promote a drug-free society.
The programme witnessed the presence of Hon’ble MLA Smt. Delilah Lobo, the Sarpanch and Panch members of Anjuna Village Panchayat, officers from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Goa, faculty and students of St. Michael Higher Secondary School, Vagator, interns from Punjab University, media representatives and other dignitaries.
PSI Sahil Warang from Anjuna Police Station attended the programme as the Special Guest.
Addressing the gathering, PSI Warang spoke about the harmful effects of drug abuse, the importance of timely rehabilitation and the shared responsibility of society in preventing substance abuse.
He emphasised that law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, families and citizens all have a vital role to play in creating awareness, preventing addiction and supporting individuals on their journey towards recovery.
The programme was attended by 60 participants, including 21 inmates undergoing rehabilitation at Kripa Foundation.
An interactive session at the conclusion of the programme encouraged discussions on prevention strategies, rehabilitation, and community participation in combating drug abuse.
The event reaffirmed the collective commitment of all stakeholders towards building a healthier, safer and drug-free society.
