A.R. Rahman to Pay Musical Tribute to BSF Jawans at Attari Border Ahead of Main Vaapas Aaunga Release

As anticipation builds for Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, the makers are set to celebrate a powerful moment that goes beyond cinema and honours the spirit of the nation.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Padma Bhushan awardee, two-time Academy Award and Grammy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman will perform a special musical tribute at the iconic Attari Border on June 7.

Titled “Jai Ho – A Tribute to the Bravehearts”, the event is being organized by the team of Main Vaapas Aaunga as a heartfelt gesture to honour the brave men and women of the Border Security Force (BSF), who dedicate their lives to safeguarding the nation’s borders.

The tribute will take place between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM during the renowned Retreat Parade Ceremony at JCP Stadium, Attari Border. The event promises to blend patriotism, music and emotion in a memorable celebration of India’s frontline heroes.

The upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga stars Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Naseeruddin Shah and Raina in pivotal roles. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, the film also reunites the iconic creative trio of Imtiaz Ali, A.R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil, who have previously collaborated on celebrated projects such as Rockstar, Tamasha and Amar Singh Chamkila.

Set against the backdrop of the Partition era, Main Vaapas Aaunga tells the emotional story of an elderly man, portrayed by Naseeruddin Shah, whose final wish is to return to his ancestral home in Sargodha, now in Pakistan. Diljit Dosanjh plays his grandson, who embarks on a journey to fulfil that wish while uncovering buried family memories and emotional wounds from the past.

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on June 12 and is already generating significant buzz for its emotional storyline, stellar cast and soulful music.
