Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika’s Courtroom Drama ‘System’ to Premiere on Prime Video on May 22

Prime Video has officially announced May 22 as the worldwide premiere date for its upcoming original film System, a courtroom drama starring Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika in lead roles. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the film promises an intense legal battle driven by two powerful women from contrasting backgrounds.

Set within the complex world of the judicial system, System explores themes of truth, power, morality and justice. Sonakshi Sinha plays Neha Rajvansh, a highly influential and privileged public prosecutor, while Jyotika essays the role of Sarika Rawat, a courtroom stenographer navigating life from a modest and grounded reality.

As their paths collide inside the courtroom, the narrative unfolds into a gripping face-off that goes beyond legal arguments and delves deep into personal convictions, shifting loyalties and systemic biases. The film raises important questions about whether justice can truly remain impartial in a system influenced by power and privilege.

Adding further depth to the film is filmmaker and actor Ashutosh Gowariker, who appears in a significant role. The ensemble cast is expected to bring emotional intensity and layered performances to the legal drama.

System was announced as part of Prime Video’s 2026 content slate and has already generated attention for placing two strong female characters at the centre of a genre traditionally dominated by male narratives. The film aims to combine emotional storytelling with a sharp courtroom narrative, highlighting resilience, ambition and the personal cost of standing up for one’s beliefs.

Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, known for her nuanced storytelling and socially rooted narratives, System is expected to offer audiences a compelling mix of legal suspense and character-driven drama when it premieres globally on Prime Video on May 22.
