Archana Puran Singh’s younger son, Aayushmaan Sethi, recently became a victim of an online credit card scam, losing a whopping Rs 87,000. The incident came to light through a vlog shared by his elder brother Aaryamann Sethi on his YouTube channel.
According to Aayushmaan, the issue began after he signed up for what appeared to be a seven-day free trial. He claimed the platform initially charged a $0 verification transaction, which he approved. However, within an hour, his credit card was allegedly charged for an entire year’s subscription amounting to Rs 87,000.
Speaking about the incident, Aayushmaan said he did not expect the full payment to be deducted without his permission. He also mentioned that the website wasn’t shady and that he had used the service before, but felt misled by the trial offer.
Parmeet Sethi advised his son to contact customer support via email, while the family added humour to the tense situation. His brother joked that he had “become a man” after being cheated online.
At one point, Aayushmaan admitted he had dealt with a similar fraud case a year ago but clarified that he had managed to recover the money in that incident.
The family was also frustrated by the company’s support system, with Aayushmaan saying he was only being redirected to AI support instead of speaking to a real person.
The incident serves as a reminder for users to carefully read subscription terms before entering payment details online.
On the work front, Archana Puran Singh was recently seen in Toaster and continues to entertain audiences on The Great Indian Kapil Show.
