Panaji, March 13, 2026: The Department of Tourism Government of Goa welcomed a travel trade delegation from Almaty at Paryatan Bhavan as part of a familiarization (FAM) trip designed to strengthen tourism collaboration and promote Goa as a preferred destination for international travellers.
The visit aims to provide the delegation with first-hand experience of Goa’s diverse tourism offerings, enabling them to promote the destination effectively to travellers from Kazakhstan.
Delegation Facilitated by Travel Industry Partner
The visit was facilitated by Ernest Dias, who played a key role in bringing the delegation to Goa to explore the state’s tourism experiences.
Officials present to receive the delegation included Kedar Naik, Jayesh Kankonkar, Gavin Dias, Deepak Narvekar, and Chitra Vengurlekar, along with tourism industry representatives.
Strengthening International Tourism Partnerships
Rohan A. Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, emphasised the importance of expanding international outreach.
“Goa continues to strengthen its engagement with emerging international markets, and Kazakhstan represents a promising region for tourism growth. Such familiarization visits allow travel trade partners to experience Goa firsthand and showcase the State’s diverse offerings to their audiences,” he said.
He added that the state remains committed to building meaningful global partnerships while ensuring visitors enjoy a memorable stay.
Promoting Goa’s Diverse Tourism Experiences
Welcoming the delegation, Kedar Naik noted that such initiatives help strengthen ties with international travel partners.
He highlighted that experiencing the destination firsthand allows travel trade professionals to gain deeper insights into Goa’s offerings, including culture, heritage, wellness tourism, and experiential travel.
During the visit, Gavin Dias presented an overview of the state’s tourism experiences, including cultural heritage, festivals, wellness tourism, adventure activities, cuisine, and premium hospitality offerings.
The presentation also highlighted the state’s tourism initiative “Goa Beyond Beaches,” which promotes new experiences beyond the state’s traditional beach tourism.
Delegation to Explore Key Attractions
As part of their itinerary, the delegation will explore several attractions across Goa, including heritage sites, spice plantations, and experiential tourism destinations, gaining deeper insights into the region’s tourism ecosystem.
The Department of Tourism Government of Goa reiterated its commitment to strengthening international outreach and fostering collaborations with global travel trade partners to further enhance Goa’s presence in emerging tourism markets.
