PANAJI: The three-day Goa Cashew Fest 2026 will be held in Panaji from April 10 to April 12, celebrating Goa’s rich cashew heritage while also promoting awareness about road safety.
The festival will feature a “Drive Safe Goa” campaign aimed at encouraging responsible driving and spreading awareness about road safety in the state. The initiative was announced by Deviya Rane, chairperson of the Goa Forest Development Corporation, which is organising the event.
The festival will showcase a wide range of cashew-based food products and beverages, including cashew nuts and drinks prepared from cashew apples. Several stalls at the festival will be operated by local entrepreneurs and self-help groups, giving them an opportunity to promote their products and businesses.
Experts and stakeholders from the cashew industry will also participate in discussions related to cashew cultivation, plantation rejuvenation and challenges faced by the sector. The sessions will focus on ways to strengthen the cashew industry and support farmers involved in cashew production.
Visitors will also be able to witness demonstrations of traditional methods used to crush cashew apples and extract the juice that is later fermented and distilled to produce Feni, a popular Goan spirit.
Apart from food stalls and demonstrations, the festival will feature cultural performances and entertainment programmes in the evenings. The event aims to promote Goa’s cashew industry, support local communities and create awareness about safe driving among residents and visitors.
