Goa Showcases Rich Culture and Heritage at Republic Day Parade


Goa proudly showcased its rich culture and heritage at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, under the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Aur Vikas”. The state’s tableau featured women dancing with earthen lamps, showcasing the Diwaja festival, and intricate patterns of the Kaavi art.

Known as the “Pearl of the Orient”, Goa is a haven of natural beauty, culture, and heritage. Famous for its beaches, lush landscapes, old-world charm, and vibrant arts, Goa is emerging as a dream wedding destination.

The tableau, designed by a team led by artists Sushant Khedekar and Purnanand Paidarkar, showcased the Diwaja ceremonial procession, symbolizing Goa’s cultural identity. The display also featured the 1864 lighthouse, among Asia’s oldest, and the 17th-century Fort Aguada.

The music for the tableau was composed by Saish Deshpande, and the live dance performance featured a team of artistes led by Dinesh Priolkar. The choreography was by Nishad, while the costumes were designed by Sangeeta and Avani Khedekar.

The Goa tableau, along with those of other participating states, will be displayed at the Red Fort as part of the Bharat Parv celebrations till January 31.

Goa to Showcase its Rich Cultural Heritage at 76th Republic Day Parade


In a proud moment for the state, Goa will present a vibrant float at the 76th Republic Day parade in New Delhi on January 26, 2025. The float, designed and fabricated by a team of 30 talented Goans, will showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage and progress.

Theme: “Swarnim Bharat, Virasat aur Vikas”

The float’s theme, “Swarnim Bharat, Virasat aur Vikas,” translates to “Golden India, Heritage and Development.” It beautifully captures the essence of Goa’s journey, highlighting its rich cultural legacy and impressive development.

The float is the brainchild of a team led by renowned Goan artist Shri Sushant Khedekar. The team comprises artisans, fabricators, carpenters, and other skilled professionals who have worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. The performing artists team is led by Shri Dinesh Priolkar, with choreography by Mr. Nishad, costumes by Mrs. Sangeeta and Miss Avani Khedekar, and music composed by Dr. Saish Deshpande.

The float has undergone rigorous rehearsals, with dress rehearsals held on January 17, 18, 20, and 21. A full dress rehearsal will take place on January 23, 2025. After the parade, the float will be displayed at Red Fort as part of the Bharat Parv celebration from January 26 to 31, 2025.

The presentation of Goa’s float at the 76th Republic Day parade is a proud moment for the state and its people. It showcases the rich cultural heritage and progress of Goa, and is a testament to the talent and hard work of the team involved.
