QF, SF Line-ups Take Shape Across Categories at Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026

Panaji, January 2026: Higher-round action gathered momentum at the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 on Thursday, with several quarter-final and semi-final line-ups taking shape across multiple categories at the Panjim Gymkhana and Gaspar Dias courts.

In the men’s singles quarter-finals, Ashwin Narsinghani produced a composed performance to defeat Prathamesh Patil 4–0, 4–2, while Parth Deorukhakar overcame Maaz Khan 4–2, 4–2 to book his spot in the semi-finals. Eshaan Khadeer also advanced after getting the better of Nishad Shevde.

Men’s doubles action saw Maaz Khan and Arnav Bansode progress with a win over Praneeth V and Suraj, while Paul Singh and Nilesh defeated Atharv Paranjpe and Sonu Todu to move into the next round. At the Gymkhana courts, the pairing of Ashwin Narsinghani and Prathamesh Patil stormed into the semi-finals with a dominant 6–0 victory over Vihaan and Devaansh.

In the ladies’ singles category, Nidi secured her place in the final after defeating Trisha in the semi-final encounter.

Earlier-round men’s singles matches witnessed Maaz Khan beating Paul Singh 6–2, while Eshaan Khadeer registered a 6–2 win over Harren A.

The under-16 boys’ category produced a flurry of action-packed encounters. Priyank defeated Aymer 6–1, Fatha Ali beat Arsh 6–2 and later overcame Arhan 6–1, Arjun defeated Ivan 6–2, and Ethan edged past Priyank 6–4. Arav registered back-to-back wins against Alec (6–1) and Adianta (6–0), while Adianta earlier defeated Arjun 6–1. At the Gymkhana courts, Ayush beat Satya 6–3, Rihan defeated Vihaan 6–1, Shaurya blanked Aayush 6–0, and Athrva edged past Devaash 7–5.

In the girls’ under-16 category, Mikayla defeated Kiara 6–1, Urvi beat Devyani 6–2, Ammiel overcame Chantelle 6–2, Gargi blanked Mikayla 6–0, Bhavya defeated Urvi 6–1, Anindita beat Eaka 6–0, Kimberly defeated Anindita 6–1, and Tvisha registered a commanding 6–0 win over Ammiel.

Mixed doubles matches saw Nishi and Dhruv beat Archana and Debayan 6–0, Unnathi and Rushikesh defeat Atika and Prajat 6–2, Poojal and Pankaj blank Anita and Shivam 6–0, Deeksha and Paul defeat Aastha and Nitye 6–0, Tomoyo and Arnav edge past Bhargavi and Sonu 6–3, and Raisa and Neale beat Natalia and Suraj 6–0.

In the ladies’ doubles category, Tomoyo and Aastha defeated Renee and Devyani 6–1, Sonicka and Nidi blanked Vlada and Yuliia 6–0, Tatiana and Patricia edged past Tejjus and Sofia 7–5, while Tvisha and Bhavya beat Poojal and Raisa 6–4.

Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has recorded a massive participation of 555 entries across the Masters and Open segments, making it one of the largest tennis events in the state.

Todu and Paranjpe March into Men’s Doubles Quarterfinals at Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026

Panaji, January 2026 – Sonu Todu and Atharv Paranjpe advanced to the quarterfinals of the men’s doubles event at the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 with a dominant 6–1 victory over Nishad Shevde and Siddarth Nunes in the Round-of-16. The match was played at the courts of Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, one of the two main venues hosting the tournament alongside Panjim Gymkhana.

The men’s singles category witnessed several closely contested encounters. Ashwin Narsinghani edged past Vishwambhar 6–4, while Parth Deorukhakar registered a convincing 6–1 win over Sreyas Prasad. Nishad Shevde defeated Arnav Harishankar 6–4. At the Gymkhana courts, Praneeth V blanked Subhash Nayar 6–0, and Ryan Sodhi overcame Kshitij Gupta 6–3.

Doubles action across various rounds saw Maaz Khan and Arnav Bansode beat Raviteja Damera and Ashwath Tiwari 6–2. Ashwin Narsinghani paired with Prathmesh Patil to defeat Dhruv Rao and Subham 6–3. Parth Deorukhakar and Arnav Bansode continued their strong run, registering wins over Rehaan Diaz/Prajat Halankara (6–2) and Eshaan Khadeer/Adam Basha (6–4). Other notable results included victories by Avish Verma/Joshua Cardozo, Dhruv Rao/Subham, Maaz Khan/Arnav Harishankar, and Raviteja Damera/Ashwath Tiwari.

In additional men’s singles matches, Parth Deorukhakar defeated Avish Verma 6–2, while Paul Singh secured a 6–0 win over Ashwath D.

The women’s singles draw also saw intense competition, with Nidhi, Tomoyo Fujita, Janavi, Riya, Trisha, Unnathi, Atika and Renee registering wins in their respective matches.

Veteran Tennis Players Battle It Out at Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026

Panaji, January 23, 2026: Veteran tennis players crossed swords at the 11th edition of the ongoing Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026, being held at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar, and Panjim Gymkhana courts. More than a hundred matches were played in the highly competitive Masters category, making it one of the premier events on the veteran tennis calendar.


In the Masters men’s singles 60+ category, Kapinakadu defeated Santosh Fondekar 6–1, Sudhir Chiplunkar blanked Shivaji Chavan 6–0, Alok Raina beat Artemio Morais 6–2, Vijay Primlani defeated Alok Mishra 6–0, Agnelo Fernandes overcame D Bhasme 6–3, Sanjay Ashar trounced Hiren Bheda 6–0, Manoj Chandiramani edged Kapinakadu 6–4, Ujjwal beat Sudhir 6–3, Bipin defeated Sambasiva 6–1, Manoj Pandey blanked Nishith 6–0, Raviraj Bhagwan beat S S Bhasme 6–3, Bipin Sinha defeated Kishor Rajapurkar 6–0, Vijay Kamat beat Arvind Tiwari 6–1 and Gordon overcame Ramesh K 6–3.

In the Masters men’s singles 55+ category, Mladen defeated Manoj U 6–2, Y Ajml blanked Vikas G 6–0, Ashok K defeated Sanjeev K 6–0, Ganesh Iyer beat Swapnil 6–1, Jay Mishra defeated Steven Britton 6–2, Amol Atigre overcame Sujit S 6–2, Krishna K edged Vikrant 6–3 and Guruprasad beat Indrajit 6–1.

In the Masters 90+ men’s doubles category, Ashok and D Arumugam recorded a 6–0 win over Elvis and Marcus, Amol Atigre and Sachin K defeated Prithvi and Surjit 6–2, Anand and Abhishek blanked Santosh and Uttamkumar 6–0, Dhananjay and Rahul beat Prakash and Savadi 6–2, Arup and Sachin defeated Rahul and Sachin 6–1, Rajabanshi and Sunil beat Jaydeep and Vivek 6–1, Jijesh and Devendra edged D Chaudhary and Babasaheb 6–3, Yuvraj and Sachin P defeated Sachin and Subodh 6–3 and Parthasarathi and Praful beat Saumil and Abhijit 6–3.

Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has received a record 555 entries across the Masters and Open categories. Matches in the Open category are scheduled to commence from January 26, 2026.

Tennis Legend Leander Paes to Inspire Young Talent in Goa


Goa’s tennis enthusiasts are in for a treat as Indian tennis icon Leander Paes is set to make a special appearance at the B.P.S Hall in Margao on February 21, 2025, alongside the Baale BPS Open 2025 tennis tournament.


Paes, a multiple Grand Slam champion and Olympic medal winner, has had a storied career spanning over two decades. He has represented India in numerous international tournaments, inspiring a generation of tennis players with his energetic and passionate style of play.


At the Baale BPS Open 2025, Paes will engage with participants, share playing tips, and inspire young players to take their game to the next level. His presence is expected to fuel excitement and enthusiasm among players, making the tournament an unforgettable experience.

Nishad Shevde Storms Into Quarterfinals of Baale BPS Open 2025


Margao, February 17 – Margao-based tennis veteran Nishad Shevde stormed into the quarterfinals of the ongoing Baale BPS Open 2025 tennis tournament defeating Sujit Sahoo in a one-sided pre-quarterfinal match in the open men’s singles category, held at the iconic B.P.S. Sports Club courts in Margao.

Shevde, a runner-up in the tournament’s maiden edition last year, trounced Sujit 6-0, while Akhil Shirwaikar defeated Dmitry Smirnov 6-4 in another pre-quarterfinal encounter 6-4.

The second edition of the Baale BPS Open 2025, supported by the Goa State Tennis Association and the Baale Resort Goa, is currently underway at the B.P.S Sports Club, Margao. The tournament has received more than 200 registrations for participation.

In the tournament’s other matches in the 55+ men’s singles category, Manoj P easily overcame a challenge from Aman Prabhu Gaonkar 6-1, while Jude Cardozo made light work of his opponent Ashok Kumar Borkar 6-0 to reach the semifinals. In other matches in the same category, Noel Noronha defeated Artemio 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals.

In the 45+ men’s singles category, Manoj P and Sandeep Menon did not break a sweat in their respective matches against Brian Fernandes and Anup Sardesai 6-0, while Caetano Fernandes defeated Naveen Cardoza 6-1.
