GCCI’s 2nd Consumer Protection Awareness Programme Empowers Students and Locals at Dhargal

The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), through its Consumer Protection Committee, organized its 2nd Awareness Programme on Consumer Protection for the B.Com students of DMC College, Mapusa. The event was held on 7th November 2025 at the Shree Shantadurga Devasthan Hall, Dhargal, and aimed to spread awareness about consumer rights and responsibilities among students, faculty members, and local villagers.

Mr. Ketan Kashinath Phaldesai, Assistant Director of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, was the Guest Speaker for the programme. He delivered an insightful and interactive session on the importance of consumer awareness and the mechanisms available for grievance redressal. Mr. Phaldesai provided an overview of the consumer movement in India, tracing its historical evolution and emphasizing the enactment of the Consumer Protection Acts of 1986 and 2019. He elaborated on the rights and responsibilities of consumers and encouraged participants to remain vigilant and proactive in protecting their interests.

The programme began with a welcome address by Mrs. Amita Salatry, Chairperson of the Consumer Protection Committee. Mr. Amit Sawant, a member of the Committee and Deputy Director of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, shared insights on the significance and definition of consumer protection. The dais also included Committee Member Prof. Subhash Kavthankar, Prof. Chandru Govekar from DMC College, Prof. Dhanish Kumar, and Panch Member of Dhargal Panchayat, Mr. Satish Dhumal.

The event was compered by Ms. Neha Indear, a student of DMC College, while Ms. Neha Vishwakarma delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants. The initiative successfully created awareness among young students and local residents, reinforcing GCCI’s commitment to promoting consumer education and responsible citizenship across Goa.

It was a truly inspiring experience at Shreemant Kshatrajagatguru Residential High School, Mathagaon (Bhudargad, Kolhapur) — a place where discipline, vision, and youthful potential converge.

The interactive sessions were thoughtfully designed to empower students with two key pillars: Life Values & Self-Belief, and Cyber Awareness. In today’s rapidly evolving world, the ability to stay grounded in values while navigating the digital space responsibly is essential.

Students responded with enthusiasm, intelligence, and maturity, demonstrating why institutions like this one are vital in shaping the future of our nation. Their energy was matched by their focus, and their questions reflected genuine curiosity and commitment to growth.

A heartfelt thank you to Shri Manjeet Benadikar (Dada), Headmaster Shri Y. K. Patil, and the entire staff for the warm welcome and their tireless dedication to student development. Their efforts are clearly reflected in the high levels of discipline and integrity seen in every corner of the school.

A special highlight of the visit was meeting the NCC Cadets, who impressed with their remarkable discipline, leadership spirit, and patriotic zeal. Their presence stood as a powerful reminder of the values that build a resilient and responsible generation.

JCI Week 2025 – PRISM 110 began with immense pride and community spirit through a grand Flag Hoisting Ceremony held on 9 September 2025. The event was organized by JCI Ponda in association with Shiksha Sadan High School, Priol, and drew over 150 enthusiastic participants including students, teachers, parents, and local residents.

The JCI flag was ceremoniously hoisted by Chief Guest Ms. Anagha Kulkarni, the respected Principal of Shiksha Sadan High School, alongside JC Vadiraj Inamdar, President of JCI Ponda. Their presence added a special significance to the event, underlining the importance of leadership, education, and civic participation.

With the JCI flag soaring high, the school campus transformed into a space filled with vibrant energy, unity, and purpose. The collective enthusiasm of the crowd, made up of young students and supportive community members, set a dynamic tone for the week ahead.

In a refreshing initiative, Smt. Sunandabai Bandodkar High School in Salvador do Mundo observed Bagless Day, giving students a break from routine and a gateway into creative, experiential learning.

VMSCL Celebrates 2 Years of “Beyond The Syllabus” with Power-Packed Open Mic

Panaji, Goa – July 7, 2025 – V. M. Salgaocar College of Law (VMSCL), Miramar, celebrated the second anniversary of its trailblazing student initiative Beyond the Syllabus with a vibrant Open Mic competition, held at its Panaji campus.

Themed “Your Stage, Your Original Voice,” the evening saw an impressive array of performances by law students who expressed themselves through poetry, stand-up comedy, monologues, and original music. The sole rule? 100% originality—making the event an authentic reflection of the students’ thoughts and creativity.

The competition wasn’t just about applause—it was about impact. A democratic audience voting system via Google Forms determined the winners. Each attendee rated the acts, and the average scores crowned the top three performers.

  • 🥇 Kaushal Bathia – Scored an impressive 8.46/10
  • 🥈 Saloni Sanjay Haldankar – First Runner-Up
  • 🥉 Akansha Chari – Second Runner-Up
