Goa Showcases Its Vision as India’s Creative Capital at Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025

The 28th edition of the Bengaluru Tech Summit opened at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and technology leaders for three days of discussions, showcases, and collaborations. Among the participants, the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Government of Goa, has set up a dedicated state pavilion in Hall 3, Stall HS5a, themed “Goa – India’s Creative Capital.”

The pavilion also features the Startup & IT Promotion Cell (SITPC), highlighting the state’s growing presence in digital innovation, manufacturing, design, and entrepreneurship. The exhibit demonstrates Goa’s distinct tech landscape, supported by strong digital connectivity, evolving industrial and IT infrastructure, flexible governance, and a work–life environment attractive to talent and enterprises. The pavilion presents major initiatives such as the Goa AI Mission 2027, the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster in Tuem, the upgraded Goa Broadband Network integrated with BharatNet, and other upcoming projects. Through the SITPC, the state implements the Startup Policy 2025, currently supporting 716 startups with targeted schemes for idea development, scaling, and access to opportunities.

A key highlight is the participation of two startups from Goa showcasing their products at the summit. Spintly demonstrates its IoT-based smart access solutions powered by BLE-Mesh technology, offering wireless, secure, and scalable systems for modern buildings. Genora presents VoxIntel, a data-driven political campaign intelligence platform designed for enhanced outreach and analysis.

The Bengaluru Tech Summit provides Goa a platform not only to exhibit but also to establish partnerships, attract investment, gain visibility, and collaborate with global technology companies. Startups also benefit from direct engagement with industry players and potential clients.

As the summit continues until November 20, the Goa Pavilion invites visitors, investors, and technology leaders to explore opportunities and interact with its startups.

Central Government Urges States to Fast-Track Cleanliness Drive under Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0

The Central Government has directed all States and Union Territories to fast-track their urban cleanliness efforts under the ongoing Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0. In a virtual high-level review meeting, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal called for immediate action to eliminate dirty spots across cities with a renewed emphasis on visible, on-ground sanitation. He introduced a structured framework focused on aggressive state-level monitoring, citizen mobilization, and real-time tracking of cleanup efforts using the Swachhata App.


At the core of the initiative are Cleaning Target Units (CTUs), which will act as the operational arms to convert neglected or unsanitary urban lands into clean and dignified public spaces. “The CTUs are about converting eyesores into areas of pride, restoring dignity of public spaces and ensuring that cleanliness is not just on paper but visible and felt,” said the Minister.


The drive is not a standalone effort but a continuation of the Swachh Bharat Mission, a flagship initiative launched on October 2, 2014, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rajghat, New Delhi. Rooted in the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, the mission initially focused on making India Open Defecation Free (ODF). Over the years, it has evolved to encompass broader goals of sustainable urban development and inclusive civic participation.


Minister Manohar Lal reiterated that cleanliness and urban development are inseparable — two sides of the same coin. The call for fast-tracking this movement aims to revitalize urban spaces across India by empowering local governance bodies, encouraging citizen involvement, and leveraging digital tools for accountability and transparency. The central framework lays out specific timelines for cleanup operations, integration with the Swachhata App for real-time data updates, and a model of continuous review to ensure sustained progress.


The emphasis on visible cleanliness reaffirms the government’s commitment to not just policy but implementation, pushing for results that citizens can see and experience in their everyday environment. As India continues its journey toward becoming a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful nation, the Swachh Bharat Mission remains a powerful symbol of transformation, deeply rooted in collective responsibility and inspired by the values of the nation’s founding leaders.

Panaji Bags Presidential Award in Swachh Survekshan 2024

Panaji, Goa | July 11, 2025 — The capital city of Goa, Panaji, has achieved a historic milestone by winning the Presidential Award at the Swachh Survekshan 2024, India’s largest annual cleanliness and sanitation survey.

The award will be presented to Mayor Rohit Monserrate and City Commissioner Clen Madeira by the President of India at a formal ceremony on July 17 in New Delhi.

This honour recognises Panaji’s sustained excellence in urban sanitation, waste management, public hygiene, and civic participation under the Swachh Bharat Mission. The city’s efforts in community-led waste segregation, composting initiatives, cleanliness drives, and smart sanitation infrastructure contributed significantly to this accolade.

Panaji has consistently ranked among top-performing cities in past Swachh Survekshan editions. The 2024 award signals a renewed commitment to environmental sustainability, civic pride, and innovation in urban governance.
