The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, is set to host an exclusive ‘Experience Goa’ Roadshow in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, at the City Palace Tashkent, on September 15, 2025, as part of its global outreach initiative. The event aims to present Goa as a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable destination that goes far beyond its iconic beaches. Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, said: “Goa is evolving as a destination that celebrates diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability." The roadshow in Tashkent will highlight Goa as a destination offering authentic, memorable, and sustainable experiences while strengthening international partnerships.
Goa Tourism has launched a transformative Homestay and Bed & Breakfast Scheme aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and revitalising hinterland tourism. Announced by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, the scheme offers financial grants, training, marketing support, and simplified registration for homestay operators in rural Goa. With a strong focus on community-led and regenerative tourism, this initiative marks a bold step towards diversifying Goa’s tourism landscape beyond beaches.
