Vedanta Sesa Goa Conducts ‘Raktadaan Abhiyaan’, Donates ~150 Units of Blood Across Goa

Vedanta Sesa Goa, in collaboration with Goa Medical College, Bambolim, successfully organised blood donation drives across various locations in Goa as part of its ‘Raktadaan Abhiyaan’ initiative. Conducted under the company’s CSR programme Project Aarogya, the initiative brought together employees, business partners and students of Sesa Technical School, resulting in the collection of approximately 150 units of blood.

The donation camps were organised at Amona, Sankhli and Bicholim, witnessing enthusiastic participation from volunteers who came forward to contribute to this life-saving cause. The initiative reflects Vedanta Sesa Goa’s continued commitment to community welfare through active volunteerism and healthcare support.

According to Government of India data, the country requires nearly 14.6 million units of blood annually, with over 70 per cent of the requirement fulfilled through voluntary donations. In line with this national need, Vedanta Sesa Goa has organised over 35 blood donation camps between 2023 and 2025, contributing close to 2,000 units of blood across states.

Expressing his thoughts, Navin Jaju, CEO of Vedanta Sesa Goa, said it was a matter of immense pride to see employees, business partners and students stepping up for the noble act of blood donation. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to giving back meaningfully to the communities it operates in, highlighting the milestone of over 2,000 units donated since 2023.

Representing the medical fraternity, Dr Sanjay from Goa Medical College appreciated the collaboration and thanked the volunteers for making the initiative a success. He noted that Vedanta Sesa Goa’s efforts play an important role in addressing critical healthcare needs while strengthening community engagement.

Beyond blood collection, the camps also served as awareness platforms on HIV-AIDS and the importance of voluntary blood donation. Through Project Aarogya, Vedanta Sesa Goa has positively impacted more than 82,000 lives in FY 2024 and FY 2025 through initiatives such as multispecialty mega health camps, mobile health units, health awareness sessions and medical equipment distribution, reinforcing its holistic approach to community healthcare and wellbeing.

Over 4000 Set to Benefit from Vedanta Sesa Goa’s Hospital Facility Upgrade in Bicholim


Bicholim, Goa – Iron Ore Goa, under Vedanta Sesa Goa’s healthcare initiative Project ‘Aarogya,’ has undertaken to upgrade healthcare infrastructure. The initiative will promote better delivery of services & augment healthcare facilities in Bicholim Taluka.

 The company has partnered Our Lady of Grace Hospital, Bicholim, to upgrade and refurbish the hospital’s Out-Patient Department (OPD). This initiative is set to benefit over 4,000 patients annually. The inauguration of the upgraded OPD at Our Lady of Grace Hospital was carried out by the Chief Guest, Shri Premendra Shet, Hon’ble MLA, Mayem Constituency, in the presence of Mr. Dhirajkumar Jagdish, Deputy CEO, Iron Ore Goa (IOG), along with hospital staff, community leaders, and other Vedanta Sesa Goa executives.

Expressing his sentiments on the occasion, Shri Premendra Shet, Hon’ble MLA, Mayem Constituency, stated, “I appreciate Vedanta Sesa Goa for its strong commitment to social responsibility and for supporting such a noble cause. This contribution will greatly benefit the needy and underprivileged communities in and around Bicholim, enhancing access to essential healthcare services.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dhirajkumar Jagdish, Deputy CEO, IOG, said, “At Vedanta Sesa Goa, we strongly believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right. The refurbishment of the OPD at Our Lady of Grace Hospital and the medical camp for sanitation workers reflect our continued efforts to support community well-being. Through Project ‘Aarogya,’ we are dedicated to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that essential medical services reach those in need.”

Recently, in collaboration with the Bicholim Municipal Council, it also organised a medical health check-up camp for the female sanitation workers at the Dhabdhaba office complex.

Under Project ‘Aarogya,’ Vedanta Sesa Goa continues to support communities by augmenting essential healthcare facilities and services. The initiative includes the operation of Community Medical Centres and Mobile Health Vans, offering multi-specialty medical camps, awareness programs, diagnostic services, consultations, and free medicines. Additionally, the company promotes maternal and child health, immunization drives, nutritional awareness, hygiene, and sanitation practices to prevent diseases and enhance community well-being.
