PM SHRI Government High School Morpirla celebrated Republic Day with great fervour and patriotic spirit. The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, during which Headmistress Maria Murena Miranda unfurled the national flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.


The school assembly was addressed by teachers and students, who spoke about the significance of Republic Day and the values enshrined in the Constitution. The speeches emphasized the ideals of equality, justice, and democracy, encouraging students to actively contribute to the growth and progress of the nation.

Headmistress Maria Murena Miranda, in her address, reminded students of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and highlighted the responsibility of every citizen in building a strong and united nation. She called upon students to uphold the values of democracy, unity, and freedom. She also created awareness about Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026, stating that todayโ€™s students are fortunate to have the Prime Minister interact directly with them and encourage them to view examinations as a festival rather than a source of fear.

The cultural segment featured patriotic songs and dance performances by students, reflecting their love for the nation. Energetic dances and soulful renditions filled the atmosphere with pride and national spirit.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the end of a memorable Republic Day programme that instilled a sense of patriotism, responsibility, and pride among the students.

In a heartfelt tribute to the nation, PM SHRI GHS Morpirla celebrated the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign with a vibrant mix of patriotic events and creative expression, nurturing a deep sense of national pride among students.

The celebration began with a solemn pledge-taking ceremony, where students and teachers stood united in their promise to respect and honor the Indian national flag. The atmosphere was further elevated as the students sang patriotic songs, echoing the values of freedom, unity, and national pride.

As part of the celebration, an awareness rally was organized to inspire the local community to participate in the national campaign by hoisting the Tiranga at their homes. Marching through the neighborhood, students held banners and raised slogans that resonated with pride and the spirit of independence.

Adding a unique cultural touch to the celebration, the students showcased their artistic talents by creating stunning rangoli designs of the national flag. These colorful, intricate designs became a visual representation of their love for the country and their creative enthusiasm.

The event culminated in the distribution of national flags to all students, reinforcing the campaignโ€™s core message โ€” every citizen has a role in celebrating and preserving the ideals of independence. Students beamed with joy as they received their flags and promised to proudly display them at their homes.

PM SHRI GHS Morpirla Students Celebrate Raksha Bandhan at Rashtrapati Bhavan


In a remarkable celebration of culture and unity, four students from PM SHRI Government High School Morpirla โ€” Daksh Velip, Priyanshu Velip, Ranjisha Gaonkar, and Ridhi Velip โ€” accompanied by National Awardee Headmistress Maria Murena Miranda, visited Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi to celebrate Raksha Bandhan.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of special handmade cards and rakhis to the Honโ€™ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. The President graciously accepted the gifts and expressed her admiration for the studentsโ€™ colourful Goan costumes, which added a vibrant cultural touch to the occasion.

This unique opportunity allowed the students from the tribal village of Morpirla to immerse themselves in the traditions and grandeur of the nationโ€™s highest office. They also had the chance to visit Amrit Udyan, where they enjoyed the lush greenery and diverse flora, adding to the memorable experience.

Headmistress Miranda, who attended the At Home Reception hosted by the President on Independence Day last year, shared her joy:

โ€œIt is a golden opportunity to see our students experience the cultural significance of Raksha Bandhan at Rashtrapati Bhavan.โ€

The President also encouraged the students to plant trees and nurture them, promoting environmental responsibility.

The students expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu, the Ministry of Education, the Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, the Director of Education Sir Shailesh Zingde, and the State Project Director of Goa Samagra Shiksha Dr. S.S. Ghadi, for making this visit possible.

PM SHRI GHS Morpirla Dedicated to the Nation in Celebration of 5 Years of NEP 2020


29th July 2025 | Morpirla, Goa: In a momentous celebration of Indiaโ€™s educational transformation, PM SHRI GHS Morpirla was officially dedicated to the Nation by Honโ€™ble Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. The event marked five impactful years of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a landmark reform reshaping the Indian education system.

Held with great enthusiasm and community participation, the event featured esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Guest Shri Subhash Faldessai, Honโ€™ble Minister of Social Welfare, River Navigation, Archives and Archeology, and Guest of Honour Madam Silviya Fernandes, Deputy Director of Education. The ceremony also welcomed Sir Arun Velguenkar, State Coordinator PM SHRI Schools, along with Ashwini Gaonkar, Sarpanch of V.P. Morpirla, and Prakash Velip, Deputy Sarpanch.

The proceedings began with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, signifying the school’s new status and celebrating the milestone of NEP 2020โ€™s 5-year journey. Attendees then gathered with students and parents to watch the live stream of “5 Years of NEP 2020 – Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2025”, organized by the Ministry of Education.

In his address, Shri Subhash Faldessai applauded the school for its progressive implementation of NEP 2020 and emphasized the role of such institutions in driving quality education forward. Sir Arun Velguenkar commended the flawless coordination of the event and the inspiring involvement of teachers and students.

A special moment of pride was shared as Maria Murena Miranda, Headmistress of PM SHRI GHS Morpirla, was invited to attend the central ceremony at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, Delhi, representing the school on a national platform.

The presence of ADEI and BRC Quepem members, PTA representatives, parents, and students added to the grandeur of the celebration. With vibrant performances, interactive sessions, and a clear vision toward NEP 2020, the event became a meaningful chapter in the schoolโ€™s legacy.
