Bon Jovi Announce New Collaboration Album Forever (Legendary Edition) Featuring Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne & More

Bon Jovi have announced the release of Forever (Legendary Edition), a powerful new collaboration album arriving October 24. This 14-track project follows the band’s June 2024 release of Forever and comes amid frontman Jon Bon Jovi’s ongoing vocal recovery after a serious vocal cord surgery.

The new record features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne, James Bay, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Robbie Williams, Ryan Tedder, and more. The lead single, Red, White and Jersey, will be released this Friday, August 29.

In a heartfelt statement, Jon Bon Jovi described the project as “more than just a collection of collaborations,” calling it “an album borne out of necessity.” He revealed that while he could still sing in the studio, touring and live performances remained physically challenging following his surgery. Without the ability to fully promote the original Forever album, Bon Jovi decided to enlist the help of his friends.

“Without the ability to tour or promote an album we were all very proud of, I decided to call on some friends to help me in my time of need. All are great singers, artists, and also just great people,” he said.

The album includes standout collaborations such as Legendary featuring James Bay, Living Proof with Jelly Roll, Living In Paradise with Avril Lavigne, and a powerful closing bilingual version of We Made It Look Easy featuring Carin Leon. Notably, Hollow Man reunites Bon Jovi with fellow New Jersey icon Bruce Springsteen.

Reflecting on his recovery journey, Bon Jovi previously told NPR that his surgery and rehab mirrored the struggles athletes face when injured. “Even though I’m trained and I have studied the craft for these 40 years, eventually the body gives out,” he said. Despite slower-than-hoped progress, he expressed optimism: “I’m currently able to sing. For me now, the bar is, can I do two and a half hours a night, four nights a week?”

The album captures a new spirit of collaboration and community. “The result is an album with a new viewpoint and new spirit — a collaboration album that proves we all get by in this world with a little help from our friends,” he added.

Forever (Legendary Edition) is not just a musical pivot — it’s a statement of resilience, connection, and evolution.

232 Meritorious SC/ST Students in Goa Receive Laptops Under Government’s Free Laptop Scheme

On August 25, 2025, the Government of Goa marked another milestone in its commitment to inclusive digital empowerment. Through the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), a total of 232 meritorious students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities were awarded laptops under the Free Laptop Distribution Scheme for the academic years 2023–24 and 2024–25. This includes 121 students from 2023–24 and 111 from 2024–25.

Implemented via the Info Tech Corporation of Goa Ltd. (ITG), this initiative is designed to bridge the digital divide, support higher education, and help young Goans build critical digital skills. Since its inception in 2022, the scheme has already benefited over 450 students, furthering access to tools essential in today’s tech-driven world.

The official laptop distribution ceremony took place at the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) in Panaji. The event was attended by top state dignitaries including Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble MLA and Chairman of ITG Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, Director of DITE&C Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar, Managing Director of ITG Shri Praveen Volvotkar, Joint Director of DITE&C Dr. Milind Sakhardande, and CEO of the Startup and IT Promotion Cell Shri D.S. Prashant.

In his address, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte underscored the importance of equipping youth with digital tools to drive their academic and professional futures. He emphasized that technology now touches every aspect of life and that access to devices like laptops opens up new pathways in knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Referencing initiatives such as the IT Knowledge Centres and the Goa AI Mission 2027, he encouraged students to become the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and changemakers for the state and the nation.

Echoing these sentiments, Director of DITE&C Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar praised the determination and academic excellence of the beneficiaries. He stated that the distribution was not just about devices, but about investing in the aspirations and capabilities of Goa’s youth.

With a strong focus on digital equity, the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications continues to lead forward-thinking initiatives that blend access, infrastructure, and innovation. By supporting students from SC/ST communities with tools for success, the Free Laptop Distribution Scheme reaffirms the Goa Government’s commitment to leaving no one behind in the digital future.

Chef Avinash Martins Brings Goan Soul to Iron Chef

Written by Tanisha Cardozo

When Chef Avinash Martins first walked into the Iron Chef Thailand kitchen, he had no idea what was coming. There was no briefing, no prep, and no planned menu — just pure culinary instinct.

“We weren’t prepared at all,” he admits. “We had to rely entirely on gut and creativity.”

This wasn’t just another cooking competition — it was global, unpredictable, and intense. And in the midst of chaos, Avinash had to make every second count.

Running on Fumes and Determination

The competition wasn’t just mentally intense — it was physically punishing. Filming went on for 18 to 20 hours a day, leaving barely 2 to 3 hours of sleep. In between studio runs, travel, and brief breaks, there was no time to recover. To make matters worse, Avinash had just recovered from the flu two days before arriving in Thailand. His stomach was upset, and he survived on bananas and electrolytes for most of the shoot. “By the third day, I was on autopilot,” he says. “But I kept going. That’s what Iron Chef demands — fitness, focus, and a lot of grit.” It was a brutal test of stamina and resilience — both of which he passed with quiet strength.

🥥Cooking Goan Food Without Goan Ingredients

Recreating Indian and Goan dishes in a Southeast Asian kitchen was a huge challenge. The pantry was stocked with sauces and pastes unfamiliar to Indian cuisine, and staples like fresh masalas, curry leaves, and grinding equipment were nowhere to be found.

Still, Chef Avinash adapted. He turned to coconut milk and chili paste, and used basic dry spices like turmeric and chili powder to reimagine Goan classics like caldine and ambotik — dishes known for their deep, layered flavors and heritage.

“It was tough,” he says, “but we made it work with creativity and quick thinking.”

A Dessert Curveball — and a Surprise Win

The real curveball came in the very first round. Chef Avinash was handed saba king mackerel as the main ingredient — but just 20 minutes in, the team was stopped and given fermented soybeans. The twist? Turn them into a dessert.

Avinash had never even tasted fermented soybeans before, and desserts weren’t his strength.

“That’s usually my partner’s department at the restaurant,” he laughs.

Still, he pulled together a dish under pressure — and won the round.

🌊Storytelling on the Plate: Where the River Meets the Sea

Despite the pace and pressure, Chef Avinash never lost sight of his philosophy: every dish must have a story.

At Iron Chef, that story became Where the River Meets the Sea — a dish pairing mackerel, symbolizing the sea, and prawns, symbolizing the river. Each was complemented by a distinct Goan sauce — a mild, coconut-based caldine, and a tangy, spicy ambotik.

“I wanted to bring Betul, my village in Goa, to that global stage,” he says. “Even if storytelling wasn’t a judging criteria, for me, it was all heart.”

A Proud Moment for Goa — and the West Coast

To Chef Avinash, it was about more than representing a region.

“It wasn’t just Goa — it was the entire west coast of India,” he reflects. “Once you’re in the Iron Chef kitchen, it’s about instincts, execution, and heart.”

Despite misconceptions from judges — including the idea that all Indian food is “just curry” — Chef Avinash and his team broke through those assumptions with flavor, technique, and innovation.

Iron Chef Legacy at Home

Back in Goa, the Iron Chef title follows him — and with it, expectations. Diners now walk into his restaurants, Cavatina and Janat, expecting nothing short of world-class.

“It’s changed how people see our work,” he says. “But we don’t take it lightly. We work even harder now.”

Iron Chef also reignited something personal — the drive to be physically ready.

“I’ve started hitting the gym after 15 years. Because now I know — cooking is also about stamina.”

Always Ready for the Next Challenge

For Chef Avinash Martins, success isn’t defined by awards or media coverage. It’s about legacy — giving back to Goa, telling its stories, and lifting up its artisans.

At Cavatina, he collaborates with toddy tappers, bakers, and basket weavers, infusing their work into a 7-course experience.

“If people one day say, ‘This chef did something for Goa,’ that’s success to me,” he says.

As for what’s next?

“I’m open,” he smiles. “Whatever the universe sends, I just want to be ready — in better health, sharper mindset, and able to give it my all.”
