GUJ to Host First Solo Singing Competition 2025 for Members


The Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) is set to host its first-ever GUJ Solo Singing Competition 2025 for members on Saturday, August 16, at the GUJ Hall, Shram Shakti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji. The event will begin at 9:45 am.

This unique competition is exclusively designed for GUJ members across all three categories โ€“ Ordinary, Associate, and Honorary โ€“ providing a platform to showcase their musical talent while promoting the spirit of National Integration.

Participants can perform only one song on the theme of National Integration in any one of the four languages: Hindi, Konkani, Marathi, or English.

Members interested in participating must submit their entries to secretary.goauj@gmail.com by August 14. Full participation details and guidelines are outlined in the official rules and regulations (attached with the invitation).

The event is being held with the support of the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa. The GUJ executive committee has urged all members to participate and attend in large numbers.

Majo Amig Celebrates Friendship Day with Walk from Campal to Miramar

Panaji Declared Cleanest City in India (50kโ€“1L Category) at Swachh Survekshan 2024โ€“25


In a landmark moment for Goa, the city of Panaji has been honoured as the Cleanest City in India in the 50,000โ€“1,00,000 population category at the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024โ€“25. Panaji Bags Presidential Award in Swachh Survekshan 2024


Panaji, Goa | July 11, 2025 โ€” The capital city of Goa, Panaji, has achieved a historic milestone by winning the Presidential Award at the Swachh Survekshan 2024, Indiaโ€™s largest annual cleanliness and sanitation survey.

The award will be presented to Mayor Rohit Monserrate and City Commissioner Clen Madeira by the President of India at a formal ceremony on July 17 in New Delhi.

This honour recognises Panaji’s sustained excellence in urban sanitation, waste management, public hygiene, and civic participation under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
