India has approved a landmark Rs 18,662-crore project to construct a four-lane, access-controlled corridor between Gohpur and Numaligarh in Assam, featuring the nation’s first road-and-rail tunnel beneath the Brahmaputra river, significantly enhancing connectivity and economic growth in the northeast.
