The NSS Unit of Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim, took a creative step towards spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse by hosting a Rangoli Competition and an Essay Writing Competition under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Organised in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, the event was held on 6th August 2025, with enthusiastic student participation.

The Rangoli Competition, exclusively for girl students, allowed teams of two to create vibrant and meaningful designs that conveyed the importance of a drug-free lifestyle.
Rangolis were judged on creativity, relevance, neatness, and overall presentation, while essays were evaluated for content, clarity, and impact. The panel of judges, Ms. Mrinal Walke (Counsellor) and Ms. Sailee Garde, praised the students’ efforts in blending artistry and advocacy.
The event was attended by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumbharjuvenkar, Dr. Ajita Morajker (NSS In-Charge), and Asst. Prof. Soniya Chodankar, who lauded the initiative for its role in youth sensitization.
