Narayan Zantye College Organises Creative Competitions to Promote Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan


The NSS Unit of Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim, took a creative step towards spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse by hosting a Rangoli Competition and an Essay Writing Competition under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Organised in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, the event was held on 6th August 2025, with enthusiastic student participation.

The Essay Writing Competition was open to all students, inviting them to express their views on the theme Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in 300–500 words in English. The Rangoli Competition, exclusively for girl students, allowed teams of two to create vibrant and meaningful designs that conveyed the importance of a drug-free lifestyle.

Rangolis were judged on creativity, relevance, neatness, and overall presentation, while essays were evaluated for content, clarity, and impact. The panel of judges, Ms. Mrinal Walke (Counsellor) and Ms. Sailee Garde, praised the students’ efforts in blending artistry and advocacy.

The event was attended by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumbharjuvenkar, Dr. Ajita Morajker (NSS In-Charge), and Asst. Prof. Soniya Chodankar, who lauded the initiative for its role in youth sensitization.

Career Guidance Program in Chartered Accountancy, Banking, and Finance Held at Narayan Zantye College of Commerce


A career guidance program in chartered accountancy, banking, and finance was organized by Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim, in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Goa Chapter, Panaji, Goa. The program, held on March 28, 2025, aimed to provide career counseling to higher secondary and college students.

Inauguration and Keynote Speakers
The inauguration ceremony was graced by CA Vishwanath Bhobe, President of ICAI Goa Branch, who highlighted the importance of chartered accountancy, banking, and finance as a career option. The resource persons for the program were CA Mitali Talwadkar and CA Pradnya Bhat, who shared their expertise and experiences in the field.

Dignitaries and Organizers
The program was attended by several dignitaries, including Principal Dr. Rajendra Kumbharjuvenkar, Vice Principal Dr. Rajesh Amonkar, and Prof. Nayana Sail, who was the convenor of the program. Dr. Pravin Sawant welcomed the guests and participants, while Miss. Madhavi op pp compered the program. Prof. Nayana Sail proposed the vote of thanks.

Student Participation
A total of 95 students from higher secondary and college levels participated in the career counseling program, which provided them with valuable insights and guidance on pursuing a career in chartered accountancy, banking, and finance.

Narayan Zantye College of Commerce in Bicholim recently hosted a highly successful Accounting Expo, which brought together prominent figures from the field of accounting and commerce.
