Aldona Youth Embark on Motorcycle Pilgrimage to Velankanni Shrine

In a unique expression of faith and devotion, two youth from Aldona—Yogesh Gadekar and Mackanzy Gomes—embarked on a spiritual motorcycle pilgrimage to one of India’s most sacred Christian shrines, Our Lady of Good Health, Velankanni, located in Tamil Nadu. Often referred to as the Lourdes of the East, the Velankanni shrine draws lakhs of pilgrims from across the country and abroad every year.

The journey from Goa to Velankanni by motorcycle is not just physically demanding, but emotionally and spiritually uplifting. For Yogesh and Mackanzy, the long ride was a way to reflect, pray, and offer thanks. It was a personal and deeply meaningful journey—one undertaken not for thrill or adventure, but for blessings and connection with their faith.

Their route spanned hundreds of kilometers, cutting through varied landscapes and states, fueled not only by fuel but by a sense of spiritual purpose. Reaching Velankanni during the time of the annual feast made the journey even more special for the duo.

In an era where spiritual expression often takes traditional forms, Yogesh and Mackanzy’s story stands out. Their pilgrimage is a reminder that devotion can ride with courage, that faith travels in many ways—and that the road to blessings can begin with a single ignition.

Their ride has inspired many in their community and beyond, showing that the journey of faith is as significant as the destination itself.
