A Proven Formula for Achieving Your New Year’s Goals

As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, millions of people around the world make promises to themselves to change their lives for the better. Whether it’s to lose weight, quit smoking, or learn a new skill, New Year’s resolutions are a time-honored tradition.

The Problem with New Year’s Resolutions

However, research shows that only about 8% of people actually achieve their New Year’s resolutions. So, what goes wrong? Often, it’s because our resolutions are too vague, too ambitious, or too focused on the end result rather than the process.

A Better Approach to New Year’s Resolutions

So, how can you make your New Year’s resolutions stick? Here are a few tips:

  1. Set specific goals: Instead of resolving to “be healthier,” try resolving to “exercise for 30 minutes, 3 times a week.”
  2. Make measurable progress: Track your progress, whether it’s with a journal, spreadsheet, or mobile app.
  3. Achieve realistic expectations: Don’t set yourself up for failure with unrealistic expectations.
  4. Create an action plan: Break down large goals into smaller, manageable tasks.

Staying on Track

Once you’ve made your resolutions and created a plan, it’s time to put it into action. Here are a few tips for staying on track:

  1. Get accountability: Share your goals with a trusted friend or family member.
  2. Stay positive and focus on progress: Celebrate small victories and don’t be too hard on yourself if you slip up.
  3. Be flexible: Life can be unpredictable, so be willing to adjust your goals if circumstances change.

Making New Year’s resolutions is easy, but keeping them can be hard. By setting specific goals, making measurable progress, and staying positive and flexible, you can increase your chances of success. Remember, it’s not about being perfect – it’s about making progress and creating positive change in your life.

Take the First Step

So, what are you waiting for? Take the first step towards making your New Year’s resolutions stick. Share your goals with a friend, create a plan, and start tracking your progress. You got this!

IFFI 2024

β€œFailure is an Event, never a Person” – veteran actor Anupam Kher at IFFI 2024

Students and Delegates were enthralled by a hypnotic masterclass by one of the finest actors in Indian Cinema,
Shri. Anupam Kher in Kala Academy, Panaji, Goa, today on Day 4 of the 55th International Film Festival of India
(IFFI).

Shri Kher started the session on the topic β€˜Power of Failure’ by revealing, β€œI think I am the success story of my
own failures.” The entire session was indeed a masterclass on Life lessons, packed with numerous stories from
his personal life adorned by his characteristic wit.
Anupam Kher said his story began in Shimla where a joint family of fourteen members spent their life in a single
room with his father being the only earning member. In his words, they were poor, but surprisingly happy with his
grandfather remarking that, β€œWhen people are too poor, the cheapest thing to them becomes happiness.”

The enormously experienced actor recollected the first time he acted a part in a school play while in class 5 saying
he was miserable when he failed to secure even a consolation prize. β€œβ€˜Failure is an event, never a Person’, my
father taught me that day.” In his next outing, the budding actor made 27 mistakes in 2 lines of dialogue assigned
to him in the play β€˜Merchant of Venice’ by William Shakespeare!
Cut to the time when the National School of Drama (NSD) Gold Medal winning young actor came to Mumbai for
the first time. Kher said, β€œI had the confidence to conquer the City of Dreams at the very first chance since I was
already an NSD Gold Medallist.” But within a couple of months, he had to shift to Bandra East Railway station to
live for 27 days.
But after many ups and downs, Kher was rewarded with the movie β€˜Saaransh’. Shri Kher fondly remembered it
was in 1984 when he first visited IFFI for that film in Delhi. This year with this masterclass it has become 40 years
since his first visit to IFFI.

Life continued to be a rollercoaster ride for Anupam Kher. But in every downfall, be it the time when he met with
facial paralysis during the shooting of β€˜Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, or when he became nearly bankrupt in 2004; each
time, he adhered to the lessons he derived from his father and grandfather.
The audience was lost for words listening to the turbulent life journey of Shri Kher. But with his magnetic
personality, deliberation and acting, the sixty-eight years old veteran actor, effortlessly administered the entire
audience with tonic of his life philosophy, β€˜NEVER GIVE UP’!

Best Tips to Get You Motivated

Hello Allys,

Hope you are doing well this week! I had a wonderful last week – a lot hectic with work but the weekend done right with the San Joao Celebrations! And so I am back in action this week! Interacting with a couple of friends of mine, I got to learn several people including me, sometime or the other lose motivation in life – That driving force that keeps you going. In such circumstances, one needs to get some quick tips that will get you back in action motivated and going.

TIPΒ  01 – GET GOOD REST

On days, when you realise it is not your day or things may not seem like going. Make Sure You get a Good Night Rest. This is one of the best ways to recover, heal and feel energised as this will provide you the right amount of time to get your body, soul and mind active and going.

TIPΒ  02 – PLAN YOURSELF

One of the biggest reasons why we feel less productive or less motivated is the fact that we haven’t planned. So make sure you plan your day, write down a to – do list and make sure you get the same checked from that notepad of yours. This will keep you engage yourself to perform actions that will result into your end product which will motivate you to do better things.

TIP 03 – ORGANISE YOUR LIVING SPACES

This is one of the many things, everyone takes for granted. But if you ask me this is one of the most important thing that sets the mood for your work. Thus, organising things, clothes at home and papers, stationary at your workplace will injest in you a new energy and a fresh mindset which will encourge you to work even more.

TIP 04 – PRETEND THAT THIS IS YOUR GAME

Too often, when we feel less motivated and going we always take the back seat and hope that things may fall in their place gradually. But Instead of doing that, be the change, Dress Up and Show that you can be the boss and no matter what you can turn tides like nobody else can do. This cheat trick a lot of times worked for me, so well this is a tried and test tip. You too can try this one!

This is Your Moment, Pull Yourself Up and Rock it like a rockstar! Have the most productive weekend this week.
