Margao: CD Fountainhead and Dempo Challengers emerged victorious in their respective matches in the GSB Unity Cup 3.0 tournament organized by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust on Saturday at the MCC Ground, Margao.
In the first match of the day, CD Fountainhead posted an imposing 216/6 in 20 overs. Vikrant Prabhu led the charge with a blistering 51 off just 20 balls, smashing four boundaries and four sixes, while Atchut Naik Dalal contributed a valuable 48. Pranav Biche (36) and Manish Kakode (29) also chipped in.
In reply, Priority Titans were bowled out for 164 in 19 overs. Anish Mahambre (37) and Amit Kamat (unbeaten 31) offered resistance, but the target proved out of reach. Vikrant Prabhu starred with the ball as well, claiming an impressive 5/23 to seal a 52-run victory for CD Fountainhead.
In the second match, Sinq Rangers managed 153/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Sahil Adwalpalkar (42), Mehank Dharwadkar (34), and Samrudh Bharne (31) were the main contributors. Shridhar Keni and Sumiran Amonkar picked up two wickets each for Dempo Challengers.
Chasing 154, Dempo Challengers were in trouble at 47/3 before a crucial partnership between Samar Dubhashi (52) and captain Aditya Angle (unbeaten 44) steadied the innings. Their composed knock guided Dempo to 154/5 in 19.5 overs, clinching a five-wicket win. Sairaj Dhond was the most successful bowler for Sinq Rangers with 2/23.
Vikrant Prabhu was named the Desserts N More Player of the Match, while Aditya Prabhugaonkar received the Kamat Realty Hero of the Match award from Kapil Nayak and Amod Tendulkar.
