SCKFI Team Shines at TKAG State Tournament 2025–26

The SCKFI team delivered an exceptional performance at the TKAG State Tournament held on January 10 and 11, 2025–26, demonstrating remarkable skill, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Competing against strong contenders from across the state, the team’s consistent excellence stood out at every stage of the tournament.

In a proud achievement, the SCKFI team earned the prestigious Champion Instructor title and was awarded a cheque of ₹10,000 in recognition of their outstanding performance. Adding to the success, the team also secured the 2nd Runners-Up trophy for achieving the highest number of gold medals at the tournament, further underlining their dominance and dedication to the sport.

This success was made possible under the expert guidance and leadership of Sensei Omkar Ghotne, Sensei Sai Ghotne and Sensei Tejan Sakhalkar. Their focused training methods, mentorship and unwavering support played a crucial role in shaping the team’s performance and competitive spirit.

De Sequeira Sisters Shine on Global Jiu-Jitsu Stage: Giovanna Wins Bronze, Erica Earns Advanced Certification

Giovanna and Erica De Sequeira are rapidly emerging as two of the most promising young talents in international jiu-jitsu, earning recognition and acclaim for their recent achievements in the United Arab Emirates. Ten-year-old Giovanna de Sequeira captured a Bronze Medal at the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (WPJJC) in Abu Dhabi, competing in the -28 kg Infant/Girls Gi category. Representing ATRIXION Dubai and Insanity Jiu-Jitsu Academy, Goa, she displayed exceptional technical skill, determination, and composure on a highly competitive global stage. Coached by Professor Luis and Coach Ronny, Giovanna’s performance marks a significant milestone in her burgeoning competitive career.

Her achievement is particularly inspiring given her recent recovery from knee surgery just five months earlier. With the support of her sister Erica and coach Raunak Singh, Giovanna returned to competitive sports at the Kickboxing National Championship in August, before making her mark at the world stage in Abu Dhabi. Coaches and mentors alike have praised her discipline, focus, and technical maturity, highlighting her resilience and commitment to the sport.

Meanwhile, Erica de Sequeira continues to strengthen her international reputation in jiu-jitsu. Participating in the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, she also completed advanced-level jiu-jitsu training at Atrixion Academy of Sports in Dubai, earning higher-grade international certification. Her consistent training under elite international instructors has elevated her skills and positioned her as a rising figure in the sport.

Together, the De Sequeira sisters exemplify perseverance, discipline, and dedication. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to young martial artists in India and abroad, demonstrating the heights that determination and passion can reach.
