Mapusa Dream Crushers End on a High, Priority Titans Secure Top Spot in Alcon GSB Unity Cup

Margao: The Alcon GSB Unity Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, organized by Goa GSB Sports & Charitable Trust in collaboration with Goa Saraswat Samaj, saw thrilling encounters at the MCC Ground in Margao. While Mapusa Dream Crushers wrapped up their campaign with a resounding 90-run victory over Rising Stars of Antruz, the clash had little impact on the tournament, as both teams were already out of the race for the ‘Final Four.’

In the second match of the day, Priority Titans edged past CD Margao Mega Strikers by 3 wickets, ensuring they finished at the top of the standings. With this win, Priority Titans and CD Margao Mega Strikers will now face each other again in Qualifier 1.

In the opening match, Mapusa Dream Crushers put up a massive total of 224 all out in 20 overs. Their top order fired in unison, with Rajaram Kundaikar leading the charge with a quickfire 38 off 23 balls. In response, Rising Stars of Antruz struggled, managing only 134/8 in 17 overs. Kundaikar’s all-round contribution earned him the Man of the Match award.

In the second fixture, CD Margao Mega Strikers set a target of 136, scoring 135/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Priority Titans, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, chased down the target in 18 overs, finishing at 137/7. Kapil Sinai Borker’s impactful performance with both bat and ball (3 wickets for 28 runs and 17 runs) earned him the Man of the Match title.

SinQ Rangers UC Secure First Victory in Thrilling Floodlit Encounter

Margao: In a dramatic floodlit clash at the MCC Ground in Margao on Thursday, SinQ Rangers UC registered their first win in the Alcon GSB Unity Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, defeating Mapusa Dream Crushers by three wickets.

After winning the toss, the Rangers opted to bowl first. The decision paid off as the Crushers struggled early, eventually being bowled out for 146 runs in 19.3 overs. Key contributions for Mapusa came from Nityay Kunkolienkar (36), Vipul Deshprabhu (35), Mehank Dharwadkar (20), and Neel Netravalkar (18). However, lower-order collapses restricted the team’s ability to post a competitive total.

SinQ Rangers’ bowlers made a significant impact on the game, with Megh Netravalkar, Anish Kakode, and Sanat Mhapne claiming two wickets each, while Tunish Sawkar and Vardhan Prabhu Misquin added another wicket apiece.

In reply, SinQ Rangers chased down the target with determination. A 70-run opening partnership between Sairaj Dhond (35) and Sahil Adwalpalkar (35) set the foundation for the win.
