Panaji witnessed a heart-stopping cricket encounter as Priority Titans edged past Baale Tigers by a solitary run in Qualifier 2 of the PGML 5.0 tournament, organised by the Panaji Gymkhana. Played at the Bandodkar Ground, the high-stakes clash lived up to expectations, delivering a finish that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the very last ball.

After being put in to bat, Priority Titans posted a competitive total of 163 for 9 in their 20 overs. Heramb Shankar Parab anchored the innings with a composed 50 off 41 balls, while Rijul Pathak added a steady 37. Kiran Shirwaikar provided the much-needed acceleration with a quickfire 34 off just 15 deliveries, and Jaipal Mada chipped in with an unbeaten 21 towards the end to push the total to a defendable score.

In response, Baale Tigers began confidently, with Lakshay Garg and Sandeep Dahad stitching together a solid opening stand. Samar Dubhashi further strengthened the chase with a well-paced 40, keeping his side firmly in contention.

The match reached a dramatic climax in the final over, with Baale Tigers needing 10 runs off the last two balls. Niraj Lotlekar’s boundary off the penultimate delivery reignited hopes, and four byes off the final ball brought the equation down to the barest margin. Margao witnessed an evening of gripping cricket action as CD Fountainhead and Sinq Rangers emerged victorious in their respective matches of the GSB Unity Cup 3.0, organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust. Played under lights at the MCC ground, both encounters kept spectators engaged till the final overs.

In the first match, CD Fountainhead put up a competitive total of 169 for 7 in 20 overs. Manish Kakode anchored the innings with a well-crafted 49, supported by Anish Prabhudesai’s 45. The middle order capitalised in the death overs, with Vikrant Prabhu and Pranav Biche adding crucial runs to push the total to a challenging score.

Chasing 170, Desserts N More Avengers fought hard but fell just short, finishing at 161 for 7. Kaushal Hattangadi and Saish Hegde led the resistance, but disciplined bowling from Pranav Biche and Vikrant Prabhu ensured Fountainhead maintained control to seal the win.

The second match saw Sinq Rangers post a strong total of 182 for 6. Contributions came from across the batting lineup, with Sairaj Dhond, Nikhil Virginkar, Vismay Falgaonkar, and Megh Netravalkar all playing impactful knocks to build a commanding innings.

Priority Titans had a shaky start in response, losing early wickets and slipping to 22 for 4. However, Sahil Mandrekar’s half-century and Animesh Prabhugaonkar’s steady knock revived hopes. Despite the fightback, Mehanak Dharwadkar’s brilliant spell of 4 for 25 turned the tide, restricting Titans to 174 and sealing a well-earned win for Sinq Rangers.

Desserts N More Avengers delivered a commanding performance to defeat Vimson Panjim Powerplay by six wickets in the ongoing GSB Unity Cup 3.0 tournament, organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust. The match was played under floodlights at the MCC Ground in Margao on Wednesday.


After winning the toss, Desserts N More Avengers elected to bowl first and successfully restricted Vimson Panjim Powerplay to 122 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Sardesai’s Lone Effort

For Vimson Panjim Powerplay, Arsh Sardesai waged a lone battle with a brisk 55 off 34 balls, striking four boundaries and three sixes. Gaurish Agni and Nimay Kamat chipped in with 17 runs each, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled against disciplined bowling.

Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar led the bowling attack for Desserts N More Avengers with impressive figures of 2 for 15. He received good support from Kaushal Hattangadi (1/12), Vikram Gaitonde (1/19), Pratham Prabhugaonkar (1/25) and Akhil Nadkarni (1/23).

Comfortable Chase
Chasing a modest target of 123, Desserts N More Avengers completed the task in just 13.2 overs, reaching 125 for 4.

Smit Dalvi continued his fine form with a quick 39 off 26 deliveries, including three fours and three sixes. Sachin Bhandare (21) and Saish Hegde, who remained unbeaten on 22, ensured there were no late hiccups in the chase.

For Vimson Panjim Powerplay, Shivam Varik stood out with figures of 2 for 15, while Siddhant Amonkar (1/10) and Arsh Sardesai (1/11) picked up a wicket each.

The match unfolded as a closely contested affair, keeping players and spectators engaged until the final ball.

After winning the toss, Priority Titans opted to bat first and posted a challenging total of 181 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Mihir Kundaikar played a composed and responsible innings, remaining unbeaten on 46 off 35 deliveries. He found able support from Anish Mahambre, who struck a quick 37 off just 17 balls, and Durgesh Prabhu Gaonkar, whose aggressive 34 off 17 balls provided early momentum. For K K Strikers, skipper Nikit Naik Dalal led the bowling attack admirably, finishing with impressive figures of 4 wickets for 21 runs.

In response, K K Strikers began their chase under pressure and found themselves struggling at 65 for 5 in 9.3 overs. However, Nikit Naik Dalal once again stepped up, playing a blistering knock of 53 off 32 balls, while Ramnath Prabhu Bam added a valuable 39 to revive hopes of a turnaround. Despite the late surge, Priority Titans maintained their composure in the closing overs, with disciplined bowling restricting the Strikers to 178 for 8 in 20 overs.

Animesh Prabhu Gaonkar and captain Yash Prabhugaonkar played key roles with the ball, picking up two wickets each to ensure the narrow victory. MCC Thunder booked their place in the final of the MCL 11 T20 cricket tournament with a hard-fought 14-run victory over MCC Knights in the second qualifier, played at the MCC Ground in Margao. The win sets up an exciting title clash against MCC Tigers, scheduled for Sunday, and capped off a closely contested encounter that kept spectators engaged till the final over.

Batting first, MCC Thunder put up a competitive total of 169 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Om Fadte anchored the innings with a composed knock of 38, while Dr. Rohan Badve contributed a vital 37 and Roshan Naik added a quick 28 to bolster the middle order. The Thunder batters showed intent and resilience, ensuring a challenging target despite disciplined bowling from MCC Knights, with Siddharth Ghanekar emerging as the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 25.

In response, MCC Knights mounted a spirited chase and remained in contention for much of the innings, eventually finishing on 155 for 7 in 20 overs. Sairaj Dhond top-scored with 27, while Smit Dalvi’s 26 and Pranav Biche’s 21 kept the scoreboard ticking. However, MCC Thunder’s bowlers maintained pressure at crucial moments, preventing the Knights from gaining momentum in the final overs.

Dr. Rohan Badve delivered an outstanding all-round performance, following up his batting effort with impressive bowling figures of 2 for 21. He received excellent support from Sudhir Shet, who claimed 2 for 15, and Sudesh Rane with 2 for 25, as Thunder’s disciplined attack restricted the scoring and sealed the victory. Paul Fernandes also chipped in with a wicket, conceding 27 runs.
