Additionally, participants are introduced to commonly used administrative terms, departmental titles, and standard replies.

Earlier, three training batches were successfully conducted in August. For September, five more training sessions are planned across Panaji and Madgaon, with each batch accommodating up to 30 participants.

Konkani Language Training for Government Employees Inaugurated by Harish Adconkar

In a move to enhance transparency, accessibility, and cultural alignment in governance, Harish Adconkar, Managing Director of the Goa Waste Management Corporation, inaugurated a Konkani Language Training Program aimed at government employees across departments.

The initiative is designed to ensure that officials are equipped to handle Right to Information (RTI) applications and daily administrative duties using Konkani, the official language of Goa. By offering structured training in the language, the program aims to bridge communication gaps and foster greater inclusivity in public service.

Speaking at the inauguration, Harish Adconkar said:

“Training in the Konkani language will empower officials to respond to RTI queries and manage office matters more efficiently and respectfully, while staying connected to our cultural roots.”

The program reflects the state’s commitment to linguistic inclusivity and the importance of local language use in public administration. It also resonates with citizens’ rights to engage with the government in a language that is native to their state and identity.

Held under the aegis of the Goa Official Language implementation initiatives, the training is expected to roll out in phases, benefiting various departments and improving communication standards across the board.

As Goa moves forward with digital governance and RTI reforms, language training like this ensures that clarity, accessibility, and accountability remain at the heart of governance — in a language that speaks to the people.
