Poems by legendary Goan poet Manohar Rai Sardessai were reimagined as Christmas carols at the Concerto De Natal held at the Museum of Goa, blending Konkani, Portuguese and Western musical traditions into a celebration of Goa’s cultural and literary heritage.
At the launch of his Konkani poetry collection Thode Bold Thoden Old, young poet Pruthvi Naik was praised by noted author Hema Naik for his socially conscious themes and contemporary insight. The event, organised at the Government Arts, Science and Commerce College, Khandola, highlighted the growing boldness and maturity of Goa’s new generation of writers.
Eminent Konkani poet and Sahitya Akademi awardee Madhav Borkar will lead the 26th All India Literature Conference of the All India Konkani Parishad, to be held in Ernakulam, Kerala on November 22–23.
At a vibrant writers’ gathering hosted by Institute Menezes Braganza, speakers celebrated the vital contributions of women poets to Goa’s literary heritage. Scholars and poets including Pournima Kerkar, John Aguiar, and others highlighted the richness, lyricism, and evolving diversity of Goan poetry.
