The 26th All India Konkani Sahitya Sammelan held in Ernakulam, Kerala, praised the Goa government for its stance on the Official Language Act while urging opposition legislators to safeguard students’ futures and Goa’s secular fabric. Several resolutions promoting Konkani language, literature, education, and film development were unanimously passed.
At a Seva Pakhwada event organized by the Directorate of Official Language and Government College, Khandola, noted Konkani writer Zilu Gaonkar called on citizens to make use of government language schemes and promote Konkani through daily communication.
The 8th batch of Official Language training organized by the Directorate of Official Languages, Government of Goa, commenced on September 22 at the Language Research Centre in Panaji. Chief Guest Gurudas Desai emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the Konkani language in administration.
The All India Konkani Parishad will convene its General Body Meeting on 11th October 2025 at Madgao to address key issues including the re-registration process, finalizing the Sahitya Sammelan welcome committee, and electing its President.
The Directorate of Official Languages, Government of Goa, has commenced its fourth batch of Official Language Training from 8 to 11 September 2025 in Panaji. Chief Guest Dr. Veena Kumar emphasized the importance of the mother tongue and urged the use of Konkani in administrative work.
