CKB Martial Art Academy recorded a moment of immense pride at the Khelo India Kickboxing Championship held in Mapusa, Peddem, as all 11 girls representing the academy achieved a 100% medal-winning result. Competing with determination and discipline, the young athletes brought home a mix of gold, silver, and bronze medals, reflecting months of dedicated training and perseverance.

The champions who delivered this outstanding performance include Ahd Mulla, Ainsley Dsouza, Afifa Mulla, Sejal Parsekar, Saanchi Chavan, Aarohy Kamble, Atifa Mulla, Zoya Dori, Pranjal Kamble, Raashi Kamble, and Inaya Mulla. Asmita Khelo India Tennis Ball Cricket Women League 2025 Set to Inspire Goaโ€™s Young Athletes


The Asmita Khelo India Women Tennis Ball Cricket League 2025 is set to bring the excitement of womenโ€™s cricket to Goa on 15th November 2025. The event will take place at the Panchayat Ground, Kundaim, Ponda, marking a celebration of womenโ€™s strength, teamwork, and passion for the sport.

Organized by the Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association in collaboration with the Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India (TBCFI) under the Khelo India Scheme of the Sports Authority of India, this tournament stands as a testament to Indiaโ€™s growing commitment to supporting women athletes at all levels.

The league will feature 12 womenโ€™s club teams from across Goa, totaling 168 athletes, each representing the spirit of dedication and sportsmanship. The event aims to inspire young girls to take up sports, fostering a culture of fitness, confidence, and empowerment through cricket.

The matches will begin at 9:00 a.m., with Dr. Gangadariah, Vice President of TBCFI, serving as the official observer. Two umpires deputed by the Federation will oversee the games, ensuring fair play and professional standards throughout the tournament.

Beyond the thrill of competition, the league carries a deeper purpose โ€” to highlight the role of women in Indian sports and encourage more participation at the grassroots level. The winning team will be honored with cash prizes, trophies, and attractive individual awards, recognizing both teamwork and individual excellence.

Goa Flags Off #TirangaRally Ahead of 79th Independence Day to Celebrate Unity and Patriotism


Panaji, Goa | August 14, 2025: In a stirring tribute to Indiaโ€™s 79th Independence Day, the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Goa, organized a spirited #TirangaRally on August 14, bringing together the youth of Goa to celebrate the values of unity, patriotism, and national pride.

The rally was flagged off from the ferry point opposite Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji, by Secretary (Sports), Shri. Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS, in the presence of Dr. Ajay Gaude, Director of the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, and Shri. Sumith Maheshwari, High Performance Director, Khelo India.

Hundreds of students from various institutions across Goa took part in the rally, waving the Tricolour and echoing the spirit of freedom as they marched through the streets of Panaji. The rally served as a powerful reminder of the role youth play in shaping the nationโ€™s future โ€” not just through education and innovation, but by carrying forward the values of inclusivity, unity, and democratic pride.

GFDC Celebrates 13 Years of Football Development in Goa


The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC), established in 2012 to nurture football talent at the grassroots level, celebrated its 13th year on August 13, 2025, at the Athletic Stadium, Santacruz.

The special function began at 5:30 PM with a cake-cutting ceremony, graced by Chief Guest Secretary Sports, Shri. Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS, alongside Dr. Ajay Gaude, Director, Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs; Shri. Sumith Maheshwari, High Performance Director, Khelo India; Fransquinha Almeida, Member Secretary, GFDC; and other dignitaries.

The celebrations included spirited football matches between coaches and officials of GFDC, DSYA, and SAG, showcasing camaraderie and passion for the sport. Prizes were distributed by the Secretary Sports, acknowledging the contributions of participants and stakeholders.

Since its inception, GFDC has played a pivotal role in promoting football in Goa through grassroots programs, coaching clinics, youth leagues, and fitness assessments for coaches. Its initiatives have been instrumental in creating a sustainable ecosystem for football talent in the state.
