QF, SF Line-ups Take Shape Across Categories at Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026

Panaji, January 2026: Higher-round action gathered momentum at the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 on Thursday, with several quarter-final and semi-final line-ups taking shape across multiple categories at the Panjim Gymkhana and Gaspar Dias courts.

In the menโ€™s singles quarter-finals, Ashwin Narsinghani produced a composed performance to defeat Prathamesh Patil 4โ€“0, 4โ€“2, while Parth Deorukhakar overcame Maaz Khan 4โ€“2, 4โ€“2 to book his spot in the semi-finals. Eshaan Khadeer also advanced after getting the better of Nishad Shevde.

Menโ€™s doubles action saw Maaz Khan and Arnav Bansode progress with a win over Praneeth V and Suraj, while Paul Singh and Nilesh defeated Atharv Paranjpe and Sonu Todu to move into the next round. At the Gymkhana courts, the pairing of Ashwin Narsinghani and Prathamesh Patil stormed into the semi-finals with a dominant 6โ€“0 victory over Vihaan and Devaansh.

In the ladiesโ€™ singles category, Nidi secured her place in the final after defeating Trisha in the semi-final encounter.

Earlier-round menโ€™s singles matches witnessed Maaz Khan beating Paul Singh 6โ€“2, while Eshaan Khadeer registered a 6โ€“2 win over Harren A.

The under-16 boysโ€™ category produced a flurry of action-packed encounters. Priyank defeated Aymer 6โ€“1, Fatha Ali beat Arsh 6โ€“2 and later overcame Arhan 6โ€“1, Arjun defeated Ivan 6โ€“2, and Ethan edged past Priyank 6โ€“4. Arav registered back-to-back wins against Alec (6โ€“1) and Adianta (6โ€“0), while Adianta earlier defeated Arjun 6โ€“1. At the Gymkhana courts, Ayush beat Satya 6โ€“3, Rihan defeated Vihaan 6โ€“1, Shaurya blanked Aayush 6โ€“0, and Athrva edged past Devaash 7โ€“5.

In the girlsโ€™ under-16 category, Mikayla defeated Kiara 6โ€“1, Urvi beat Devyani 6โ€“2, Ammiel overcame Chantelle 6โ€“2, Gargi blanked Mikayla 6โ€“0, Bhavya defeated Urvi 6โ€“1, Anindita beat Eaka 6โ€“0, Kimberly defeated Anindita 6โ€“1, and Tvisha registered a commanding 6โ€“0 win over Ammiel.

Mixed doubles matches saw Nishi and Dhruv beat Archana and Debayan 6โ€“0, Unnathi and Rushikesh defeat Atika and Prajat 6โ€“2, Poojal and Pankaj blank Anita and Shivam 6โ€“0, Deeksha and Paul defeat Aastha and Nitye 6โ€“0, Tomoyo and Arnav edge past Bhargavi and Sonu 6โ€“3, and Raisa and Neale beat Natalia and Suraj 6โ€“0.

In the ladiesโ€™ doubles category, Tomoyo and Aastha defeated Renee and Devyani 6โ€“1, Sonicka and Nidi blanked Vlada and Yuliia 6โ€“0, Tatiana and Patricia edged past Tejjus and Sofia 7โ€“5, while Tvisha and Bhavya beat Poojal and Raisa 6โ€“4.

Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has recorded a massive participation of 555 entries across the Masters and Open segments, making it one of the largest tennis events in the state.

~ The 10th edition of Goaโ€™s premier tennis event sees a significant rise in participation, showcasing talent from seasoned professionals to promising juniors across multiple categories.

Panaji, Jan 2025 – The tenth edition of the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2025, a premier tennis tournament, is set to kick off at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias in Miramar on January 23. With a record breaking 533 entries received, the event promises a thrilling display of talent from a diverse range of participants, including veterans, seasoned professionals and promising juniors.

Organised jointly by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Goa’s first tennis club and the Gadre Group, in collaboration with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has garnered tremendous interest this year in the tennis fraternity.

In the tournamentโ€™s Masters segment, the 45+ category has received the highest number of entries, 61, followed by 55 entries in the Masters doubles 90+ and 40 in the Masters doubles 110+ category. Other entries include 30 in the Masters doubles 120+, 32 in the Masters singles 60+ and 30 in the Masters singles 55+ category. The 35+ mixed doubles, the only mixed category in the Masters segment, has recorded 11 entries. 

The Open category also boasts significant participation, led by 118 entries in the menโ€™s singles and 43 teams in the menโ€™s doubles. The ladiesโ€™ singles category has drawn 28 entries, while the Open mixed doubles segment has 23 teams. In the junior divisions, the boys under-16 category has 26 entries, the girls under-16 category has 15 entries, the boys under-12 category has 13 entries, while eight players have registered to participate in the girls under-12 category.

The tournament will begin with the Masters category matches commencing from January 23 to 26, followed by the highly anticipated Open category matches from January 27 to February 2.
